My wife banned me from using the C word a long time ago. Oh! they are talking about Christmas!

LOL. The actual "C" word is probably ok with them.

Just not their warped version of a new nasty 'c' word, CHRISTMAS. I wouldn't be at all surprised... (Sadly shaking head and wondering if it's okay to mention Wiccan 'holidays' and others by name...)

The Eden website mentions festivals in China, Iran and even Ancient Rome but there is nothing about Christians and the United Kingdom. The site reads: “This is a time of year when people around the globe traditionally exchange gifts. Time of Gifts will celebrate these global festivals. Divali (Hindu and Sikh), Hanukkah (Jewish), Dong Zhi (China), Yalda (Iran), Saturnalia (Ancient Rome).”

Oh, I missed this. It doesn indeed answer my question about what 'holidays' were not verboten. Naturally Saturnalia makes the list.

I went to the contact page and pasted my comment #39 above into the text box and sent it to them.

Perhaps other FRepers would care to do the same?

It's amazing how many "sensitive" people are idiots around Christmas time.

About 10 years back, I was working in midtown. After our office "holiday" party, we got to leave a little bit early. Well, for us folks in the cubes, the quickest route out was to walk past the row of offices of the project leaders, managers and higher ups. Everyone wished everyone else "Merry Christmas" on the way out, but when they passed my supervisor, they were "sensitive" enough to wish her "Happy Holidays" (to which she graciously replied 'Thank You').

Except for me. When I walked past her, I said, "Have a good weekend." (Why not? It was a four-day weekend.) She smiled and wished the same IIRC. By the elevator, I actually had someone question me about that. They knew my boss and I didn't get along, but they thought I should have wished her a happy holiday. I told that that I had.

"No, you didn't. I was right there."

"No, no, no. You don't understand. I wished her a Happy Channukah.
"Three weeks ago.
"During Channukah."

Very sensitive to wish someone a Happy Holiday two weeks after it ends, don't you think?

TS
Happy Veteran's Day to you all!
Happy Easter, too!

They left out Kwanzaa. The nerve of these insensitive dolts!

The only way this PC BS is going to stop at Christmas time is for ALL Christians to refuse to give gifts

Let's see how that economical bit of news would play with these idiots

That is good. The company I work for also celebrates Christmas as Christmas. They even state in their employee handbook that it is a Christian holiday and will not be discounted because the company sees that to do would be discriminatory. They do celebrate other religions holidays as well.

Another suggestion: Perhaps we should all send the management Christmas Cards this year.

And, I am sure they did the same during ramadan, right?

Yes. It was renamed "The Time of Human Sacrifice and Self-Flagellation-val".

Staff have been told to stop visitors saying Christmas.

I would really, REALLY like to go there then watch them try to stop me from saying "Christmas". It would be worth the price of a plane ticket.

I have absolutely no sympathy for people who are such extreme bigots that they are offended if they even hear the word Christmas mentioned. Hey, where is the diversity here?
In any case, this the great majority of people in this country are Christians they should get over it or move to another country -- Somalia, Iran, China, etc.
