A platform robust with pro-life planks was passed yesterday by delegates during the opening session of the Republican National Convention being held this week at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The 94-page document, "A Safer World, A More Hopeful Tomorrow," calls for constitutional amendments banning abortion and gay "marriage," a comprehensive ban on cloning, continued denial of federal money for research on new embryonic stem cell lines, abstinence education and other measures that bolster the sanctity of life and the traditional family.

So what you'r essentially saying is that anyone with a differing viewpoint on abortion than you is your enemy. That's simply not true. Some of us just have other issues that we take into consideration on election day. For example, oh, I don't know...maybe the fact that 3000 people died AT THE SAME TIME a while back and there are many more to follow if we don't act now! No one is marginalizing you. You are the ones issueing threats and ultimatums.
My wife is Jewish...hardly evangelical.
She was opposed to gay marriage.
No one can claim title to this victory.

Combatting evil is priority #1.
Abortion is more evil than Saddams torture chambers (which was extremely evil by the way). The reason Bush is in Iraq is two words "combatting evil". He will combat the evil of abortion.
Moving in with my folks for a while because the economy takes a dip holds no concern for us compared to EVIL.
If the GOP misses this one be prepard to move in with your folks!
While I agree with your position on abortion 100%, I find it amazing that you think it is smarter to sit at home and not vote rather than cast a vote for third party candidate like Peroutka? I don't get it, and don't think God will either. Don't ever stop voting, if you do, then your voice will be meaningless in America. And yes, I proudly voted for Michael A. Peroutka!
Truth being stranger than fiction though, in 15 years or so who's to say, if roles won't be reversed? Republicans didn't always draw their inspiration from the common folk.
I'm really hoping for a democrat revival. In the interest of our Country, it's needed, big time!
I'm basicially with you in that the pro-life position is the main reason I ventured over to the Republican side.
Taxes are important, but everyone has their hand in the cookie jar, and nearly all citizens have supported and taken advantage of pooled tax revenues. It's a weak incentive for me at least.
I also find the Republicans attitude towards the environment to be tilted too much towards the business side of the issue. It is a tough issue though, because tough environmental standards can definitely lead to a loss of jobs.
I live in NY, I had to hold my nose and vote for Pataki. The only reason I originally voted for him was to get Mario out, as he was getting ready to nationalize the utilties in our State.
But the State is still in serious financial trouble, and Upstate is dying a slow, miserable, somber death. Shumer actually has tried to bring some industry and businesses to some of the surrounding towns. If he runs against Pataki, I'm voting for him, plain and simple because he has extended himself to try to help our part of the State.
To the best of my knowledge, Pataki hasn't done nearly as much for Upstate. Party means nothing.
