Where's Brittney Spears?
When I read DeNiro and Pacino I immediately thought of Dustin Hoffman but he's the bottom of the barrel. On another thread it was posted that he gave an interview to playboy magazine and stated that in order to get along, we should behave more like dogs, sniffing each other's asses on meeting.
Shame. Tootsie was one of my all-time favorites.
Hoffman is a good actor who turned into a movie star along the way. The thing to remember with actors is they are people who have dedicated their lives to wiping away their own personalities to portray fictional characters. The more thoroughly they are able to do this, the better actor they become. This skill/craft doesn't exactly set the table for deep thoughts on complex subjects.
LOL I have often wondered what I would look like after being professionally done. I feel certain that what they do would be too hard to maintain on a daily basis, though.
Good point.
I would like to see Ray, also. Hard to find the time to go to movies lately.
Also, two of the best "young" actors around -- are Ed Norton and Val Kilmer. Both, I believe, are not political, though Kilmer is deeply religious (and still out of his mind, from all reports).
Too funny.
LMAO!
Ed Norton is a cuuutie pie.
Vincent D'Onfrio
Brilliant actor. IMHO better than Brando. And, weirdly, he was really, really good right out of the gate. Check him out in his first movie, Primal Fear(?) with Gere.
Motown is my favorite. If I'm not listening to talk radio I only listen to the oldie stations. My teenagers hate it but when they were younger, they liked it.
I also loooove War. Brings back memories of summers gone by.
It's the unions in Hollywood that control the sets and equipment. The teamsters have complete control of equipment used on location and in studios.
It is Hollywood's union leadership that controls an actor's work option. Actor's will say anything and sometimes do things they do not want to do such as sexual favors in order to continue working.
So the garbage coming out of their mouths is to please the union leadership there. Very few actors go against the union party line there.
Hollywood and its industry is mostly very dirty, very scummy. Unless one reaches a stable work situation in which case it can become very affluent and to the opulent extreme, there is very little else with respect to living quality. So those that come to its affluence or have a chance to, will say and sometimes do anything to stay or get there.
There is also an enormous gay influence in the union leadership. That helps explain alot of the union party line.
? ? ? ? ? ?
I'd love to spend Thanksgiving at the Balwin house this year and help Stephen celebrate our win with his liberal brothers!
He was so good in Primal Fear it was scary. A very talented man. He outshines everyone he is on the screen with. He was a lawyer in the movie "The People vs. Larry Flynt" and he made everybody else look like amateurs.
