Fine speech. He sounds like a good guy. Why doesn't he get involved in electoral politics? I'm sure his state legislature would be a plausible place to start. Maybe county commissioner.

Heck, in a few years he could get a shot at Congress! That would actually be interesting. Of course, he'd have to run as a Republican to be elected to anything at all, but it works for Ron Paul, so gofer it Michael!

No. I'm doing this right here on FR. I don't know how to do anything fancy.

What I have come to understand from this exchange is that I believe that convictions matter, you don't.

Don't be such a dolt. "Dog Gone" has convictions. What he is expressing is that convictions are NOT ENOUGH.

Say for example the folks who fought the American Revolution had no guns, and instead attempted to engage in hand-to-hand combat against the heavily armed British troops. Would we be praising them today for their convictions? Of course not. We would be cursing them for being so damn stupid---while we were busy singing "God Save The Queen."

Convictions HAVE to be backed up by reasonably sound STRATEGY for achieving them. This is something the Constitution party most certainly does NOT have. And without sound strategy, convictions are WORTHLESS.

Wake up and smell the coffee... and help us move the Republicans to the right.

"His not supporting the WOT and his isolationism is simply idiotic and NOBODY with those views will ever get elected"

Exactly. I'm sick of the Republicans but I could never have voted for him.

Where in the heck did I say that convictions don't matter? It's just flat out weird that you would level that accusation in a post where you apologize for insulting me.

I will try to explain my position one last time without using analogies or any fancy or trite expressions.

The Constitution Party is certainly free to express political opinions. I happen to agree with many of them. Some I do not. Many of the opinions they speak about are shared by other conservative parties, including the Republicans.

If the Constitution Party wants to be heard, they must do something other than running one candidate for President every four years. If they really have important ideas that other parties will not adopt, then they need to field candidates at all levels, especially for state legislative slots.

If all the Constitution Party has to offer is great ideas, then they are no different than conservative columnists. If they want to be a political party that makes a difference with great ideas, they have to do something entirely different than they are doing now.

But thank you for your apology, and I assure you it wasn't really necessary. It's nothing in comparison to what I've received over the years. Once I was accused of being an al-Qaida terrorist, and I have to admit that one really raised my blood pressure.

If I could I would, move it to the right, that is. :)

I don't have an answer. I've looked at the HTML code for your posts, and there's nothing unusual except that those longer lines were a lot longer, something which is obvious even without looking behind the scenes.

It's not about percentages, it's all about ideas.

Reminds me of the other famous loser line: "The only polls that matter are on election day."

You want the steering wheel, but you don't care that you don't have any wheels.

This one is a keeper!

Here in Texas, the Democrat Party has lost so much power that I often wonder if a third party will pop up somewhere.

That's an unusual name you've got! What does it mean?

I may not agree with all of it, especially on his Pat Buchananesque isolationism!! and his being against the WOT

Actually, those are the best parts. But then, I voted for Badnarik.
