Word on the street is that he's resigning before the breaking scandal that he left a child behind.
It is quite normal to serve just one term. I'm sure the financial sacrifice was a factor as well in his decision.
Shame. I liked Paige because the NEA and the rest of the scumbag liberals did not.
On the other hand, now Bush can appoint somebody even more "in your face" than Paige.
I heard on the way in to work this morning a DJ urging President Bush (in absentia) to appoint Bill Cosby as Secretary of Education. That sounds like a very good idea in my book.
I would love to have Bill Cosby as the secretary of education. Certainly he will do much, much better than the old liberal Hot Rod did.
Rod Paige would probably open his mouth too many times like Alan Keyes. I wouldn't like him to run. He wasn't a good secretary of education. He's better in public service.
