:') "some of the characterizations I'm seeing post-election" aren't really new. This has been going on as a mass movement at least since the middle of the 19th century. It is yet another shriek on the retreat, but they see it as digging in for the fight in 2006 and 2008. Fanatics like that have to be opposed at every turn -- letters to editors, op-ed pieces, and boycotts.

The Christian approach vs the Muslim approach seems almost identical to writers on the Left.

Almost, but not quite. They will offer excuses for the Muslim approach, while only condemning the Christian approach, unless it is willing to forgo its principles to accommodate Leftist ideologies & causes.
