Actually the Washington Times reported the other day that Bush got the majority of people with some college and college degrees. Skerry got the people with no High School Diploma and Advanced degrees.

On our pilots message board, some twit posted that people with college degrees voted for Kerry 3-1, proving how stupid the Red Staters are.

I beleive on Monday, C-Span ran a symposium from the Democrat Leadership Council(the so-called "moderate" democrats) and the leader of that group(Bruce Reed) stated that democrats in educational terms only got vast majorities in two groups, high school drop outs and those with post-graduate degrees(i.e the DUmbist of the DUmbist).

"Any similar occurrences in your hometown?"

To tell the truth, I was totally drunk and TOTALLY arrestable during election night 2000! I did stay in my house, though, that I will say, but I still can't believe hubby didn't "911" me. I guess he knows me better than I know myself, because I would have had me hauled off!

It's sort of like when I go to K-Mart, not pretty.

The day Kerry conceded, the DU board was furious at him. They wanted Edwards to drag Ohio and FL through living hell. Many DU'ers felt "betrayed" when Kerry gave up within the day.

High school grads 51/48 Bush

Kerry only won with High School dropouts- 50/49

Yep! I've been visiting DU on and off since election night. The ones who aren't angry at Kerry right now are still holding onto the slim reed of hope that he and Edwards are secretly huddling with investigators, software experts, and lawyers. You see, they're building a mound of evidence to prove election fraud. They'll then hop onto white horses and ride in to save the republic from Bush.

Excuse me, but Gainesville is typically a conservative town by and large. My father went to school there and I have gone for events too. You don't find a lot of libs there.

I'd like to agree, but I believe that Kerry carried (haha) Alachua County this year. It's a blue county.

3 months ago when I was down there I saw nothing but Bush Cheney stickers and signs. I saw but 4 Kerry stickers. Those are my old stomping grounds.

Ever heard the expression, "Educated beyond their intelligence"?

That's similar to what my mother said when she opined "There's no fool like an educated fool."

Per the exit polling data (buyer beware):

- The 4% of the electorate without a high school education went for Kerry over Bush, 50% to 49%. (The undereducated voter constituency is historically reliably 'Rat.)

- The 22% of the electorate with a high school education went for Bush over Kerry, 52% to 47%.

- The 32% of the electorate with some college education went for Bush over Kerry, 54% to 46%.

- The 26% of the electorate that are college graduates went for Bush over Kerry, 52% TO 46%.

- The 16% of the electorate with a post-graduate education went for Kerry over Bush, 55% to 44%. (This constituency is also historically reliably 'Rat.)

Kerry won over both the undereducated and overeducated voters. My life experience tells me that neither a college nor post-grad education is what it used to be. Many people with such degrees are still quite bright, but more and more--quite a few actually--are dumber than rocks. In the mid-20th century a college education was a proven track to a successful life. In the latter part of the century the masses acted on this observation to the point where now it seems that everyone goes to college. The average college grad these days, I'd be willing to bet, is no where near as bright as the average of half a century ago. It's pretty obvious to me that many colleges don't even try to teach critical thinking.

For some reason, I don't think anyone would be arrested for acting this way towards Bush.

The last time a Republican carried Alachua county was in 1988--and just barely in that year (749-vote margin). Reagan carried it more easily in 1984 (4031-vote margin). In 2000 Gore carried the county by 47,380 votes to 34,135.

I would venture a guess that a vast majority of people with post grads (Masters and Doctorates) are college professors... A notorious liberal segment of society...

Punta Gorda is in Charlotte County, which Bush carried in 2000. From the election maps by county he appears to have carried it again in 2004.
