The title of this thread being first noted by FReeper Baynative, above is the documented evidence of that fact.
Here's what Specter had to say in his defense:
"I am concerned that the ICC may inappropriately subject Americans to criminal prosecution. National sovereignty is a very precious principle that the U.S. should not forgo. However, I have long been of the view that aggressive involvement in UN prepatory commissions would have helped to formulate ICC guidelines consistent with the national interests of the United States." (as excerpted from Senator Arlen Specter's letter to constituents, dated November 5, 2002)

Time to remove the horns of this RINO, and stick him in the back of the Republican bus.

John R,
Have you had enough of Spectre Specter, yet?
Doesn't the Soros brazen call for the world government right away give you enough pause about Specter's allegiences?

Well, that's the end of that.
Can't have a Senator on the Judiciary Committee who wants American soldiers subjected to trials by foreign war criminals and sex perverts ('cause that's the caliber of people Europeans manage to dig up to sit on these courts or other high positions. I'm recalling Kurt Waldheim ~ only guy in the German Army in WWII to never get promoted above Lt., but he was cutting orders to send folks to death camps ~ a quite tyical European magistrate or administrator)
Best we do everything we can to keep ourselves clear of those people when it comes to running a trial.

SPECTER supported subjecting our troops to trials by the International Criminal Court (ICC)!
Specter supported the guidelines because to do so would open the possibility of undermining the ICC from within. Sort of like Bush signing McCain-Fiengold believing that the courts would save us.
Specter's policies may seem to tack leftward, but it is all a ruse to lull his enemies to sleep as he pursues his radically conservative agendas.
Get it?

Jeez! Even sKerry voted for it!
I've seen alot of debate on this site with more than a few respected Freepers arguing in favor of Specter's nomination. I challenge anyone to defend him after reading this!

Quix, If I am not mistaken, I think it was
FReeper John Robertson, not John Robinson, who supports Specter. FRegards.

Say it ain't so! Not Mr. "Not Proven" Scottish Law! I'm shocked! Shocked!
To: k2blader
Essentially, Specter is on record as being the only Republican Senator to vote in support of subjecting our military men and women to criminal prosecution by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Senator "Marbles in Mouth" must not be made Chairman of the Judiciary Comittee.

Somebody must have given our President bad information when he supported Specter in the Rep. Senatorial primary in PA.
Of course, this is hindsight--however, those of you who live in states with Rep. members of the Judicial Committee, keep your assault against Specter's chance to be appointed Chairman.
GOOD LUCK!
To: Baynative
Thank *you* for bringing it up!
I didn't even know he had done such a thing until I saw one of your posts on the subject.

This is a very potent issue and not nearly as divisive as the abortion issue with excising the grip of this internationalist from a position of power!
