Berkeley or Oakland CA come to mind.
I used to live near Johnson City...where did this occur? Now I live in New England, where this film is shown in classrooms with nary a peep.
Step 1: Tear page along perforation.
Step 2: Use to cleanse body orifices.
Step 3: Drop in toilet (completely biodegradable, except those pages with Moore's picture, which should be considered toxic waste)
Step 4: Flush.
Oh! Thank you kindly for the link! I had an interesting conversation with some college lunch-buddies after the election (can you just GUESS who they voted for?). As they brought up "the draft", I pulled out info from a post on FR and gave them directions on how to look up the "reinstate the draft" bills and just WHO (Democrats) was sponsoring them. You could hear a pin drop at that table afterwords! It was wonderful. I need to print this out and bring it to the lunch table this week (if I'm allowed to sit with them, now)
The students were telling me that a social studies teacher at our school was thinking of showing Fahrenheit 9/11, but the students didn't think it should be shown unless equal time was given to the other side. :-)
PARENTS - YOU BETTER BE PAYING ATTENTION TO THIS.
I'm assuming most liberal teachers would not inform students ahead of time they were planning on showing this movie. Choosing instead to brainwash our children.
Since Michael Moore is not a credentialed teacher or educator .. it's beyond me why anyone would ever select his garbage to show to students.
Oh there are teachers that will use it alright! This crap fits right in with their liberal public school indoctrination agenda.
I picked up a little flyer at the UMASS Communist convention called "Radical Teacher." This is a REAL magazine (http://www.radicalteacher.org/).
From the brochure: "Founded in 1975, is a socialist, feminist and anti-racist journal dedicated to the theory and practice of teaching. It serves the community of educators who are working for the democratic process, peace, and justice. The magazine examines the root causes of inequality and promotes progressive social change."
Just another reason to get your kids to private school......
Is it just me, or does that image of him peeking over the page that he uses on the linked webpage remind you of the old "Whack-a-mole" game.
I guess it would have to be renamed "Whack a moron"
Believe it or not, that's EXACTLY what I thought of, that and also the NERD with it's nose over the fence that was a constant presence when I was in Jr. High School (late 60's).
Whack a Moron I HADN'T thought of!
That is one way schools have been prevented from showing it, the rating. One dad called talk radio and he was steamed that the movie was shown to his child who was under 17.
It is propaganda. Reminds me of when I was a kid and we had a visiting preacher who had been to then Communist Russia. He had smuggled out posters that he had made into postcards that he could easily carry with him to show to churches here. They showed Christ throwing up at the wedding where he turned the water into wine. Stuff like that, all making USA and Christians look really bad. I see Michael Moore as a Communist propagandist.
As I watched FarenHYPE 9/11 I caught several deceits that had been in F 9/11. I will print out the 59 Deceits you linked to and keep it with my copy of FarenHYPE 9/11. Thanks for posting the link.
Just heard that Kerry is already organizing his run for president 2008. Must be nice to have that kind of $money$ and $ugar Momma.
I wonder if some enterprising Freeper would be willing to make an online "Whack a moron" game?
Micheal Moore is a natural, and has provided the perfect picture for the job, but the cover of "Rewriting History" has an appropriate Hillary picture........
Just wondering......... (ENORMOUS HINT HERE!!!)
Luckily, the film has not been shown at any schools in my state and never will be.
