President Bush is going to go down in history as one of the most consequential presidents in American history. Oh I most definitely agree with that.

Greenstein suggested Bush may decided to do just that - fulfilling a promise he has made in the days since his successful re-election - by nominating "some kind of uniting figure" for any Supreme Court vacancy, instead of a conservative who would spark a bitter Senate confirmation fight. Greenstein is dreaming. If Bush did that, you can kiss the "Moral" voting block goodbye.

"He talks the talk of conciliation, but he walks the walk of the solid conservative," said Allan J. Lichtman, a presidential historian at American University. Horsepuckey !
Letting Ted Kennedy write the education bill ?
Proposing amnesty for illegal aliens ?
Ballooning budgets for federal programs ?
Of course these aren't conciliatory - they're "solid conservative".
This entire article is simply justification for the 'rats scorched earth policy - take whatever they can get, scream partisanship, and give nothing.
