ROTFLMAO! Yeah, I know all those hard working, thrifty, Liberal families are sick and tired of having to pay high taxes to support the Republican welfare & food stamp class.

What an idiot O'Dummell is!

Lawrence O’Donnell actually stated that the Red states were “welfare” and that the Blue states paid for the Red states. He further urged the Blue states to secede from the Red states.

Great idea Lawrence, glad that you brought it up. Instead partitioning geographically, how about if everyone on "welfare" (that is receiving Government largesse)secedes from the Union. They can run their own Government however they want. Those not needing government assistance can have their government. What say you Lawrence?

i actually agree with and support the proposition that the leftists should divorce from the red states.

i support their secession. they should all move to one or two states and then secede.

I wonder what the left would be saying now if they had won?

I don't think I could tolerate Moore, O'Donnell, Streisand, McAuliffe, Rather, Olbermeyer and others in my face for the next 4 years.

I'm so glad to be in theirs.

No problemo Lawrence. We here in Red Montana have 200 Minutemen III's with 3 MIRVs each to use as a bargaining chip to "coerce" the Girly Boys from the blue states to do our bidding.

Why do O'Donnell and his ilk continue to support candidates who advocate even more welfare programs and more socialism?

I'm sure the Red states would be glad to let the Blue states keep their welfare money--and keep their regulations, "values" and meddling to themselves as well.

Next time let the Dems run a candidate who advocates ending the Federal Welfare State. He'd probably get more support in the Red states than Kerry did.

Just had an alarming thought: What if all of the enlightened, super-productive and altruistic Blue-State progressives simply decide that enough is enough.

"We're not knocking ourselves out anymore to support these Red State freeloaders."

Arrrrggggghhhh!!!

Does anyone else think Lawrence O'Donnell reminds him of Mel Kiper?

The Blue states are really blue cities. If you combine data on voter preference by income level (from exit poll data) and percent of taxes paid by income level (income, payroll, and excise taxes from IRS data), you find that Bush voters pay 57% of the taxes and Kerry voters pay 42% of the taxes.

% of taxes paid
Under $15,000 - 1.2%
$15,000-$29,999 - 4.3%
$30,000-$49,999 - 11.0%
$50,000-$74,999 - 14.6%
$75,000-$99,999 - 13.9%
$100,000-$199,999 - 23.3%
$200,000 or more - 31.7%

% voting for Bush
Under $15,000 - 36%
$15,000-$29,999 - 42%
$30,000-$49,999 - 49%
$50,000-$74,999 - 56%
$75,000-$99,999 - 55%
$100,000-$199,999 - 57%
$200,000 or more - 63%

For each income level, multiplying (% of taxes paid) X (% voting for Bush), gives you

% of taxes paid by Bush voters
Under $15,000 - 0.4%
$15,000-$29,999 - 1.8%
$30,000-$49,999 - 5.4%
$50,000-$74,999 - 8.2%
$75,000-$99,999 - 7.6%
$100,000-$199,999 - 13.3%
$200,000 or more - 20.0%

For a total of 57% of taxes paid by Bush voters. You can do the same exercise for Kerry voters and see that they pay 42%.

HAH! New York State pays for NYC and that's why we're in such bad shape. Now secession from NYC wouldn't be such a bad idee-uh. This guy is a real jerk.
