The title on the Chronicle's front web page:
"GOP 527s outspend Dems down the stretch"
To: Cincinatus' Wife
That cannot be true. The Swift Vets spent what? $2M... Soros spent what? $100M?

(Congratulations Bush on your re-election VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Not to mention, MSM's non-stop, free Bush-bashing.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
I'm glad that McCain-Feingold bill worked. Both of them should have to resign.

Hopefully, after all this Soros' nonsense we can repeal McCain-Swinegold.

***But according to an Election Night survey by GOP pollsters, nearly 75 percent of voters said they were familiar with a Swift Boat Veterans ad that featured Kerry's fellow Vietnam veterans questioning Kerry's military service. A somewhat smaller number could recall similar ads attacking Bush, according to the GOP polling firm Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates. ***

Political speech ($$$$) will find a way.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
A somewhat smaller number could recall similar ads attacking Bush, according to the GOP polling firm Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates. That's because the anti-Bush ads were indistinguishable from MSM "coverage." Lots of people probably didn't even realize they were seeing ads.

Oh! Those were political ads? I thought I was watching CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.

Even this article displays MSM bias. "Anti-Kerry" is used to describe pro-GOP 527's, but "Pro-Democrat" is used for pro-DNC groups.

The RINO's like McCaine will try to kill off the 527 groups if they can. Because they know that if they don't, the 527's will be looking at THEM in the next primary cycle
If they survive, and play a role in the primaries, 527's will be a powerful force for conservatism precisely BECAUSE they answer to their contributors and NOT to the "go along to get along" party Establishment

He might leave well enough alone.
McCain's scheme backfired.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Well, what this article says, basically is simple. Republicans know how to spend money better. Despite being ouspent (total, not on the last weeks of campaign) three times, the R527 gave more result than D527.

I am g;lad all the AFL-CIO (Union Dues) and SOROS millions went down the tubes. Both Johns were flushed and the Party isn't as flush as it was. The money bowls have been drained and they won't be able to steal as much from the taxpayer to replenish their supply.
Now to make sure the GOP does what it is stated or implied they would do JUDGES- LOWER TAXES - AND END ROE V WADE, in a manner that won't be over thrown by a LEFTIST COURT.

When the history of this past election is written (by historians, not journalists!) John O'Neill will emerge as a candidate for sainthood.
