"We have 55 seats. If Specter loses his chair but still votes against all the judges, he can't block anything. It's time to put the RINOs down hard and fast."
False. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with only a 1 seat advantage on the committee. A snarlin Arlen could be a major problem. There are also filibusters to break. We don't need Arlen drumming up rebels among Snowe and others. We need him to stand with us. He'll only do that if he keeps the chair. Strategery.
WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
His whole record is against our values. His arrogance is against our values.
He WOULD BE VERY, VERY, VERY OBSTRUCTIONIST AND DESTRUCTIVE IN THE CHAIRMANSHIP.
He's the puppetmaster's key stooge in this context. We must do all we can to remove him!
Talk to me about Trent Lott. Where did you fall on his leadership of the GOP in the Senate...?
Another time. It has to do with sentience. I tend to favor voluntary euthansia, but the "spector" of abuse gives me pause, so mark me down as undecided and conflicted. However, I have my own plans for a final exit. I don't plan to hang around awaiting achieving terminal velocity, when the jig is up. Part of that is avoiding being trapped in a friggin hospital.
bttt
I could handle the morning after pill as a TOLERABLE compromise.
Before implantation--there's dozens of things to prevent implantation. Who's to know whether it was natural or pill caused.
But once implantation--I want no abortion/infanticide.
I have no desire to lean on, depend on a snake in the grass.
I'm praying he gets removed from the Senate entirely and that well before his next election.
God has options we can't imagine.
Hi Lady!
Laura Ingraham and I think he should be Chairman of Food Services in the Senate dining room. You see, if they are all suffering from constipation, the bad stuff won't be spewed at us! LOL!
Yup.
Read my posts again, and look up the work "sentience." If you draw the line elsewhere, that is fine. It is a subjective judgment. You go to your church, and I will go to mine, and when the time comes, and the judicial mess is relegated to the dust bin of history, we can just fight it out in the public square, along with gay marriage, and so many other exciting visceral issues. Isn't democracy grand?
I don't agree and I think you're trying to send our party back into a minoruty status. Arlen will stick with us now and if he doesn't, he can be removed later. He's been punished and I think he's learned a lesson.
Really? I'm not running to the sounds of tolerable compromise, but I believe that is the likely, 'reasonable' end-case scenario.
However, it still has gross, disgusting logic to support the position...twisted logic.
You are still murdering a baby, one that is only there because the process of creating life was entered...murder my 2 day-week-month old in momma and you've got problems you haven't thought about yet.

Lott got a bum rap but I wasn't sorry to see him go.

Until then, we should welcome him. He seems repentent to me.
