Kevin Steel of the Western Standard has composed a more accurate red-blue map of the United States and Canada.

I like this map but we need to annex the Yukon Territory and Downstate Illinois. We here in Eastern Missouri could use a bit of a buffer.

The county by county map is the only one to look at. PA is a perfect example. @ lost by what? 150,000 votes?
Move Philly into Jersey (or even get rid of the vote fraud) and PA is a RED state.
Plus, all the blue states but CA, WA, NY, and the New England states (sans NH) were lost by W by a couple % points.

I have to admit it still bothers me having our side referred to as "Red" states/provinces. The RATS are the ones that salute the Red flag.

Since your Canadian map seems to go down to the level of ridings, it might be fun to post it with the county-by-county map for the lower 48, and a borough-by-bourough map for Alaska (though that might need to be generated fresh).

take away the fraud in philly and detroit and W actually won PA and MI

If he would have used the county by county map instead of the states map it would have gotten a lot redder. Unfortunately I live in a blue county in a blue state. =/ More targets of opportunity for me this way though. ;-) I figure I converted at least 10 to Bush this last year...

That is spot on as to how I see Canada. :) Even a good friend of mine who lives just across the border about 30 miles from me, in Saskatchewan would agree.

Doesn't bother me. The Red faction on the left lost: the Soviets are no more, and the PRC is becoming capitalist (though perhaps fascist rather than democratic). It's a new century, we'll take the color back, thank you.
The American left is now mostly a bizarre variant of fascism, owing more to romantic and Nietzchian attacks on Christianity, the Enlightenment, and modernity than to either the Rousseauian phase of the Enlightenment or to Marxism. Let the have blue: they sing the blues enough

I noticed Iowa wasn't red either.
Whats with Michigan's upper mitten? Its a lighter shade of blue. Maybe their getting ready to cross over.
