I don't want to see him head the senate judiciary committe. If you disagree, write Frist yourself and tell him so. I don't wish to discuss the pros and cons of specter.

bump for later.
Time to pump up and push W to spend some of that capital that the conservatives earned for him.
Specter must be stopped!

Specter's moderate pro-life record reflects PA's moderate pro-life population. "Moderate pro life record"????
Boy, howdy that's a new one! And nominee for Stupid Post of the Year.
Compare and contrast a real PA pro-life Democrat (the late Bob Casey.) We shall not see his like again.

Anyway I already pointed out Specter was rated 21% by NARAL in 2003 and voted for the PBA ban and the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. Specter has voted to confirm all of Dubya's controversial pro-life picks including Mike Fisher. That's the record and it is moderate.

I don't wish to discuss the pros and cons of specter. Then perhaps you should try another thread to post on...this one is about Arlen Specter.

Actually, I started this thread not debate spector, my mind was made up. I wantto urge people to write their senators to keep spector from becomming head of judiciary committee. Nevertheless I respect your right of disagreement and no flames were intended.

Looks like our voices are being heard!
The people rule!
Conservative wing raises fuss over Specter's views
Carl Hulse, New York Times
November 6, 2004
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Angry conservatives flooded Senate phone and fax lines Friday demanding that Republicans prevent Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., from presiding over the Judiciary Committee for saying two days earlier that judicial nominees who strongly oppose abortion might be rejected.
Republican senators and their aides, speaking privately for the most part, said the uproar posed an impediment for Specter, who is in line to succeed chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, atop the committee that examines judicial nominees. It was likely that he would still get the post, they said, but not certain. "He is not out of the woods," said one aide.
Stop Specter!
