Johnny ain't Swift at all. As a matter of fact, he's a Johnny WALKER, now.....hubby guzzled him down tonight in one gulp. LOL
My husband and I hired a babysitter, got dressed to the nines and went out for lemon drops (me) and Ketel One martinis (him).
Only out for a couple of hours, but it was FUN! And we're in Portland, so the schadenfreude was delicious, as well--all of those moping airheads crying into their Hefeweizens. Ha.
1973 Kentucky Bourbon with Bob Hope. He held the bourbon and I drink it
what is "cubicle bound"? never heard that one before...
As soon as the story about Kerry conceding hit the wires this morning, I started on the champagne. :)
ACK! That's true! I'll switch to Absolut Orange. Made in Sweden. Not a whole lot better, but still...
Congrats, I'm drinking a cup of hot tea. Nothing strong.
I finished a bottle of white wine I had. I don't recall the brand, but I'm not much of a wine conoseiur.
I smoked two cigars: A Padron #5000 maduro and a Punch Rare Carojo rothschild.
Does anyone know what brand of cigars Bush smokes?
I did the same thing January 20, 2001. Iron Horse is great stuff. Probably the best American sparkling wine. This Day After Election, I'm on whiskey. Inn facct, III thhhin' III maaay haaave haaadddd toooo muchhhh.
Go Bush!
methinks praps tis time to crack the bottle of balvenie doublewood
The Johnny Walker comment is very funny! Sounds like you have a great time up there. My brother is a Swiftie and has worked so hard this past year, so we have been having a great time, drinking some fine Calif. Red's. He said that Kerry had to write his own "after election report" and maybe he'll get another purple heart".
Been there, done that! LOL Actually we had gotten back to our cabin, north of the "circle", after a wonderful time in Vegas one year (trying to find the sun)....anyhow, drip stove (oil heater) had froze up, cabin froze up, could skate across floor of cabin....and I told hubby, that does it! Gonna have a shot of vodka to take the chill off (har har). Vodka was -60 degrees.....WARNING! not good
Shmokin' as well, and going to make a creation out of my leftover bar fixins: some sour grape liquor and a bit of blackberry brandy mixed with 7-UP. It's better than it sounds!
You COOKED???? I'm in awe. I needed toothpicks to prop up my eyelids today. But we celebrated easy style, anyway. Sauteed Tritips with a brandy/cream reduction sauce, Korbel champagne, fresh green salad, Cheesecake Factory cheesecake from Costco. Sipping brandy right now (spellcheck is our friend)....
nodding off in Honolulu....
As I posted in the heat of battle last eve', I had made myself a pitcher of hurricanes to see the nite thru'. I had offered the recipe to anyone who asked then, but prob'ly got buried in the 10,000 posts that followed. So HERE 'TIS:
Hurricane Janet (in honor of my fiance, the love of my life)
3 parts Cranberry Juice ("Lite" works jus' fine)
1 part Orange Juice (same as above...yeah, they really have lo-carb OJ, now)
1 part light rum
1 part dark rum (OK, 2 parts dark without the light is OK!)
splash Orgeat syrup (that's Almond to the un-initiated)
(optional) 1 part Triple-Sec (to those who like a tad bit more tart-ness, and can deal with the buzz)
ENJOY!!!
Love ya'll for voting...ya made it happen! (niteowl in Colorado)
We LOVE Alaska, and LOVE SWIFTIES!!! Please thank your brother for us! I can't even imagine how hard they have worked, and all of us appreciate it so much. I have a cousin who served in Iraq and I've often wondered if maybe he is a Swiftie too. Haven't heard from him in years. Yea, Kerry deserves a purple heart alright and we'd just love to give him one the ole fashioned way....he certainly EARNED one this time. LOL
heh heh. The fruitcakes over at DU wouldn't believe it if they knew how many Freepers like the pakalolo now and again.
Since my job requires me to obey the law to the letter, I only get to relive my college days on the occasional visit to Amsterdam.

I just re-read my last post to you.....I must have Iraq on the brain! What I meant to say was that I had a cousin who served in VIETNAM! Ok, that's it....better mix another toddy to clear my brain. har har
excellent choice!
