Sen. Kerry will not raise your taxes. But my taxes will go up to where they were before George W. Bush took office.

... and whenever one ends up paying more in taxes this year than they did last year: we call that a WHAT, Carole...?

As they should.

So voluntarily cough up more into the federal kitty yourself then, muffin.

It's perfectly legal. No one's stopping you, you know.

Waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting... :)

Eydie Gorme, in her prime, had the most magnificent voice on a woman that I've ever heard. It was unearthly in its power.

What you said. One of the best songwriters of popular music EVER. I have nice people in my family that think just like her. As Hillary would say, it just shows we have a lot of work to do.

Carole,
I'm concerned you have been going against your conscience. You believe that YOU "should" be paying more in taxes, and yet you haven't. I'm wondering, where did you get that rule, that someone who earns more money "should" have more taken away automatically given to a government where you won't always agree how it's spent? Instead, why not keep your money, and in good conscience spend it on the things you believe.

Most people misinterpret Jesus when He said that "To who much is given, much will be required." God doesn't expect us to just give more, but wants ALL. It's very different than the secularized interpretation.

Why give Him all? Because He has given His all for you. He forgives you because of His Son Jesus' death in your place. A "tapestry' of love to wrap around you! You owe Him, not the government. As gratitude you can give all. Republicans are just saying let us decide how to spend what God gives us, rather than the Government.

I haven't listened in a long time. If you go their website you'll find they (Steve and Eydie) are real crowd pleasers at Atlantic City and other casinos.

How will Sen. Kerry pay for health care and education and reduce the deficit? If you're making under $200,000 a year, Sen. Kerry will not raise your taxes. But my taxes will go up to where they were before George W. Bush took office. As they should.

1. Is King actually so stupid as to believe that raising taxes only on people making over $200,000/year would pay for Kerry's socialized health-care program, buy even more teachers' votes for Democrats, AND reduce the deficit? (Answer: No. Nobody is THAT stupid.)

2. If King thinks her taxes should be higher, then why doesn't the hypocrite simply write a big check and send it to the US Treasury? (Answer: Because like liberal Democrats everywhere, she prefers to selfishly walk into the polling place and vote for more big-government confiscation - - of OTHER PEOPLE'S money.)

"You're So Vain" may be Carly Simon's song, but one line could be applied to King:

"You're so vain, you probably think this vote was about you...don't you?...don't you?"

As to her talent, she may...MAY...have written SOME passable songs, but her voice sounds like an elephant stepping on an accordion.

Since all the celebs are for tax increases on wealthy people, such as themselves, why don't they voluntarily pay a higher tax rate and take no deductions? A flat 40% rate. Then they should release their tax returns to the public so we can be witness to their generosity.

I’d like to see some of their tax returns now – how many pay as little as Teresa? Some celebrities do donate a lot of their personal wealth to worthwhile charities – but it doesn’t seem to be the radical socialists among them.

Hallelujah. Women no longer need to be enslaved by their husbands' or fathers' political beliefs. :-)
