I don't dare open the blinds or go out into the sunlight...my eyes, my eyes!

I always go for the lamp method. I never raise the blinds for fear that my neighbors will see my pasty white flesh. :o)

the absolute best thing to stay awake is eatting sunflower seeds in the shells. somethign about deshelling them with your teeth and tongue makes you alert...it is weird but works everytime.

That really is bizarre. I'll give it a try sometime.

I have had some success with combining caffeine and a short nap.

I do that all the time. It does work well but you have to have a major caffeine tolerance to pull it off.

Sleep? That's absurd. Don't you know that people die in bed? :o)

Thanks. I am dragging today. I was up until 3 am. At least I work out of my home and can rest when I want to.

I'm glad to help my fellow zombies. By the way Vicki, I read your profile page and I agree with you completely. My wife stays home with the kids.

Sunflower seeds are the greatest way to stay awake while driving. David and Sons are too salty--you get lip burns on too long of a trip (also you have to eat too many bitter worms) Frito-Lay are pretty good. Wal-Mart--dreadful! Switched to Spitz brand on recommendation from a highway patrol accident investigator. (We were talking about how good sf seeds are at keeping you awake.) Spitz seeds are plump, tasty and virtually worm-free (maybe because they're a Canadian product and worms don't live that far north????

very helpful post to many, i'm sure...
i'm still kind of a newlywed, and my wife had to be at the airport at 5:30am (flight attendant) so i stayed in the spare room playing city of heroes with my brother and watched fox....very relaxing. i usually only do all-nighters on the comp with my brother when wife is on a weekend trip, so it was a nice mid-week all-nighter :)
