How many of you had (or will have) your children with you today when you vote? I enjoyed sitting down at a table and voting with my kids standing by me watching me. They can't vote, but they worked hard on the Coburn campaign and are very interested!

The poll workers knew me, called me by name. They are used to seeing me coming in, every election, bringing my jedis with me.

for years the German farmers in the area voted "D"....Many have switched parties and are running on the "R" ticket, but who knows how many that will influence!

You must live in northern Indiana. The northern half has a German/Yankee feel to it and the southern half has a Southern feel to it. Even the accents are different. And I do mean half. Even in Indianapolis the north side feels Yankee and the south side feels Southern. One time I was there for the Indy 500 and just crossing 16th street bisecting Indianapolis near the Speedway I had that feeling. Maybe it was just a wild imagination but when I crossed from the north side of the street to the south side it felt like going from a Yankee country to Johnny Reb country. It sounds silly but that is the way it actually felt.

Reporting from SC. Heavy EARLY turnout in our (VERY) republican precinct...only the Presidential, Senate, and Sherrif races even had a dem candidate on the ballot...all others ran Repubs unchalllenged. We got there 1/2 hour before the poll openend and were out about 40 minutes after that. By that time, the line was VERY LONG! GO W!!

I have done in years past, when I could. This year... may not be able to. But my biggest Jedi, Matthew, will enthusiastically cast his first votes!

"I admit it. Yesterday I was feeling very very nervous due to the fluctuating polls. But today I am feeling GOOD!!! I now am very confident of a Bush win. A BIG Bush win....BUT don't be complacent. If anybody hasn't voted yet---PLEASE VOTE!!!"

By the third debate I swore off of watching the polls. Getting off that roller coaster was the best thing I've done for my nerves in a long time.

Ditto on "BUT don't be complacent. If anybody hasn't voted yet---PLEASE VOTE!!!" Everyone has to go out and vote because we all know how high the possibility for fraud is. Pres. Bush and our soldiers have never needed us more! GO W!

I voted in Du Page, too. Western suburbs, but neither my husband or I had to show ID. There were no lines, but a very steady stream of people and it seemed like it was picking up as we were leaving about an hour ago.

I take my homeschool students with me. They are not my kids, so I keep a copy of the statute that allows minors in the booth in my pocket. We'll spend most of this morning discussing the electoral college vs pure democracy (and as a homeschooler, I'm sure you know that means mob rule!) Hmmm...connection between "mob rule" and "democrats"???

Keep in mind that there is a sizeable Amish community in Wisconsin, also. Iowa, too. Not many people are aware of those communities, but they are large enough to matter in those close swing states.

A lot of Amish in the Ohio countryside. You will see a lot of them selling stuff at the Rogers Flea market. They sell something called "Shoofly" pie but that name scares me too much to try it.

"Voted in beautiful Tallassee, Alabama. Very heavy rain this morning here. Record crowds at my polling place, and all the local stations are saying there's record turnout everywhere! Overwhelming for Bush!!!! Almost every truck leaving my polling place's parking lot had a Bush/Cheney sticker! WhooRah!!!!"

Wish I could say the same here in Connecticut, I live in Naders home town and I haven't seen a sing for anyone but Kerry. (Although I did see one for Bush but it didn't last a day.)

One "little 3" franchise excersised!

Voted early in my little Minnesota town...brisk business for a community of 1500 or so. But even in my little corner of the world I got to see what I imagine is a "snapshot" of a Kerry voter. Some grungy guy with a big Kerry button went into the booth ahead of me, came out asked a poll worker something, threw his ballot in the trash and got a new one....went back in, came out again, asked something else...threw out his ballot, got a new one...went back in, came out a 3rd time...another ballot in the trash and another new one. By this time I got in another booth and for all I know he's still there. Oh, and we had a real complicated ballot in our little district. A fill in the oval next to the name job, and really only three races, Pres., Rep., and state rep. It's scary to think these people can have such a sincere effect on my life...

Voted first thing this morning in Arlington, VA, with few problems, except that there were numerous foreign camera crews filming voters in line and casting ballots. Luckily, I voted at a kiosk across the room from the cameras, but they were bearing down on some uncomfortable-looking voters; in some cases, they were actually filming the screens as they touched their choices.

Does anyone know if this is legal? It seems completely insane to me (1) to have foreigners nosing into our elections and (2) to have voters basically intimidated by intrusive camera crews at the polls.

Any advice on whom to contact besides the local GOP office?
