I'm cheering for you. Not that polls matter, but I read on a messageboard about a recent poll in Beacon news that showed Keyes at 31% with 16% undecided. Have you heard anything about that?

Whatever the case, I think the race is closer than has been reported. Keep working for victory!

I don't think it's fair to say that Keyes supports the "reparations movement." That brings to mind Jesse Jackson-style extortions, which Keyes opposes.

From what I read, all Keyes did was answered a reporter's question about whether he supports reparations, and replied that he thought a tax break could be justified, while extortion could not.

Walter Williams said something similar in an article some years back, where he, after condemning the "reparations movement," conceded there could be a conservative solution to the problem. Williams suggested giving federal land to descendents of slaves was justifiable.

It's an academic question. If reparations is needed, I side with Keyes and Williams on this, rather than the monetary reparations Reagan granted to the Japanese.

That was great. Illinois is not worthy of Alan Keyes. I hope he does stay and helps the GOP in IL. Even better, I hope he wins.

Sounds like something the New York Times might say.
