1600 people died in Montreal's hospitals in 2003 due to dirty conditions which created fatal nfectionsThat's an interesting statistic . Given that there were 7,000 infections involving Clostridium difficile from April of 2003 to April of 2004. More than 600 of those cases were fatal .
You might want to consider this ,
09 Aug 2004
An average of 195,000 people in the USA died due to potentially preventable, in-hospital medical errors in each of the years 2000, 2001 and 2002, according to a new study of 37 million patient records that was released today by HealthGrades, the healthcare quality company.

''I have a good friend who is adamant he will leave if Bush is re-elected. He's picked two countries and will definitely go to one should this happen.''
Promises, promises. Wish they would follow through for once.

I'm hoping that they don't follow on their promise. Their arrival makes things much more difficult for Conservatives to get elect.
Great how many more are coming here to ruin our country more.(rolling my eyes and sarcastic)

Late to read this thread, but I imagine there would be plenty of Freepers who would be more than happy to help them all pack and might even drive them to the airport. Some Realtors possibly waive their commission if it would get them out of the country quicker?

"POTENTIALLY" preventable in-hospital medical errors is light years away from actual no-doubt-this-was-the-cause type of errors. Remember Health Grades has a marketing dog in that particular hunt.
In Quebec it was a clear case, not of potential errors, but of dirty instruments and practices. Nothing to do with errors. Everything to do with don't give a damn incompetence.
In Quebec there was no doubt, (except the strong feeling that with the extraordinary lengths the Provincial and Federal Governments went, to try to hush up the scandal) that the 600 figure is probably low.
Comparing Quebec and HealthGrades is all apples and oranges.
But if the pitch is for a national health system, I would invite any proponent to go live, not visit, live, in Canada or England for a few months and do their own survey.
It will be enjoyable if you like horror stories.

I'm thinking that after Bush wins, we need to change our signs and bumper stickers to this:
YOU SAID YOU WERE LEAVING IF HE WON. NEED HELP PACKING?

I'd be ecstatic would this were true but I know how much the left lies so I'll take it as more hyperbolic drivel.
