This goes beyong the pale IMO... read the rest of article (it's originally from the AP and I didn't think I could do more than excerpt)

I saw something about this on TV, that the Dems to go nursing homes and sign up all those people who aren't mentally compentent, and naturally, vote for them absentee.

Let me guess some 'voting' advocates came and signed them all up to vote absentee and they ALL happen to vote Democrat... am I close??

I think the next of kin who are authorized to make decisions for the patient should be notified before any voting takes place.

Pet, Child, Illegal, Felon, Superhero, Retardation, Severe Brain Disease, Coma, or Death--the Dems are definitely the all inclusive party.

There the GOP goes again. Trying to take the vote away from seniors. Have they no shame?

My memory is hazy, so I don't recall all the details but something real similar to this went on here in Wisconsin during the last presidential election (I think). Had a little pizza party at one of those homes for the developmentally disabled & assisted the folks in voting absentee. Hopefully someone who remembers it better can find a link or fill in the details.

From the article State law requires local boards of elections to conduct absentee ballot voting at nursing homes

If that's the case then state law should also be made to have a list on which are the names of those who are cared by someone who has Power of Attorney or whatever other names it might have, requiring that the person with those powers MUST be notified of when they are going to the nursing home for the residents to vote.

I hope this is investigated. It is next to impossible to keep one step ahead of the Democrats when they do things no decent person would even think of.

Something similar occurred here. A caller on local talk radio related a story as such: They had filled out an absentee voter request for her father in the nursing home. When it hadn't yet arrived they asked the "activity director" about it.

This person replied that the father had "already voted." The father denied it vociferously; but when they called the county auditors office..it was confirmed that they had a vote registered in his name. They refused to do anything about it, even though the man insisted that he had not yet cast a vote.

Those who would take advantage of the elderly and infirm are particularly vile.

I had this happen at an area nursing home-I went to visit a friend there, who's 90, and her niece was "kind enough" to "help inform" her on who to vote for. She was a lifelong, ultra-conservative Mormon, and she voted a straight Democrat ticket...because, as her niece said, Bush is sending us into a depression worse than the one in '29. *sigh* But since this was in Oregon (vote by mail), it's perfectly legal...

Unless these people have their Power of Attorney I would think in any state it's outright Fraud??

I think lawsuits should be filed. Kerry's lawyer goons would do it if the situation were reversed.

I hope the RNC is collecting all this information in a data base so when Bush wins and Kerry contests it in court they can present all the data on outright voter fraud to the courts.

My father was in local hospital dying of prostate cancer. Someone voted using his name. No way could he find his way out of the hospital to go vote.

Isn't there some sort of "VOTER FRAUD" thread on which this should be included for reference?
