I heard several in the military being interviewed by Sean Hannity last week. Both said that they were waiting to see whether or not to reinlist or get out. I think there will be a MASS exodus. Might as well, since being in the military won't protect US any more...

I go to basic on the 23rd of November...I've pondered this too. I plan on making a career out of the Air Force so I will have to wait and see what the situation is when it is time to re-up.

I wish you the best, but I have to tell you, if you were my son and sKerry were to win (shudder), I'd be doing everything I could to change your mind, including but not limited to breaking your leg, taking a baseball bat to your knees, or teaching you how to fake a psychotic episode. Someone up the thread said "it's never too late, no matter what they say." I hope he's right. That narcissistic, soul-less idiot would have you wearing a blue helmet within a year.

Of course, it's going to be Bush in a landslide, so... Good luck with your military career!

I appreciate the points, but no one will blame any soldier for fulfilling his commitment and then not surving under a traitor. For many reasons, our nation will be in deep, deep trouble if Kerry is our leader. This would be a Benedict Arnold presidency.

I know...but it's just not me to back out on something I've given my word to...and I will do atleast my 4 years.

If the situation is bad than I'll take my GI bill and part ways. But I have a feeling it won't be neccessary. Bush will win.

You have stated my beliefs very well. Thank you.

And THANK YOU to all active military personnel and your families for the service and sacrifice you give to maintain our freedom.

Prayers--and votes--that GWB is re-elected!

Let me chime in here. I'm active duty Navy right now, was all through Xtoon's terms and PROUDLY re-upped during President Bush's first term. Let me tell you, serving under Xtoon was bad and demoralizing in every way. So, too, would be serving under Mr. Heinz-Kerry.

However, SOMEONE has to be here to train the younger Sailors. SOMEONE has to teach them the traditions, the codes of honor, and the history which is their heritage as American Fighting Men. If ALL of us old-timers got out, who'd do it?

I do not serve a MAN...I serve a NATION. I can live with a ninny as CinC, for a few years, if only to pass on the traditions and honor which were passed to me. If Mr. Heinz-Kerry is elected President, regardless of his treasonous activities, you'll not hear me disparage or defame him here anymore. That's my responsibility and duty. I'll hold my tongue in public forums such as this, so I can finish my work.

If Mr. Heinz-Kerry is elected, it will only indicate that my countrymen WANTED him to command me. It is the essence of American Military tradition to respect that, as gut-wrenching as it would be. There are many young Sailors coming in right now whose lives might be saved by what I might teach them, and who might win victories based on it as well.

I simply cannot say "Screw You" to them, much as I might wish to say it to Mr. Heinz-Kerry.

Who does the UN have? The United States is the only military that has ever helped the UN. Guess there will be a draft just like Johnson and Vietnam. Oh those poor people that will vote against Bush because they think he will bring back a draft.

Your courage and patriotism is admirable and appreciated. I don't disagree, but again, I would not think less of someone who would not want to serve under a traitor.

My son Taylor has been talking about enlisting in the Army...wants Airborne and SF...

He is abandoning the idea altogether if Kerry is elected.

I loathe Hillary Clinton. She is an evil, manipulative witch. I can't believe I am actually saying this. Kerry is worse.

Nor would I. However, I considered Clinton so as well. Remember, I wasn't serving HIM, I was serving AMERICA. One can do so simply by learning from the older salts, and passing what you learn on to the younger.

Like I said, SOMEONE must, and who besides us old career NCO's would do it well, and pass on the honor you all expect from us?

We have the greatest military in the world, God Bless Them. If I could serve in the military, I would, but if sKerry is elected President I would not and if our current military personnel want to get out, I don't blame them. sKerry will have to have a draft which will fall very short of the brave men and women currently serving. sKerry frightens me more than any terrorist.

My hubby informed me the other day that he will retire if the traitor is elected. He would like to stay in and will if Bush remains in office. He is lucky, he has the years and points to do so...but he will need a part-time job to make up the loss......anyone interested in hiring a (future)former 1sg who likes to give orders?.....LOL......btw...my hubby has heard similar stories and thinks that those who can will leave the military....

If my memory serves me right that soldier was brought up on charges. I think it was due to Klinton wanting the military to wear UN patches. I could be totally wrong though.

You, ma'am, are correct imo. Mr. Kerry has no use for a strong military (that he must know HATES him). He (along with his liberal chums) would make life miserable for his alleged "Band of Brothers" just for spite. And, our national security will eventually suffer, accordingly.

If Kerry is elected, you can kiss military retention goodbye.

I disagree (somewhat). If Kerry is elected you will see his DOD put in the mother of all stop losses.

I work with a number of military retirees and active reservists who are surprised they haven't been recalled because of their backgrounds. They are scared poopless that if Kerry wins they will be recalled...and be wearing blue helmets.

I agree with you. AWOL, Kerry would have to implement draft, BUT he should give amnesty afterall that is how he got his discharged changed to honorable.

The way I see it we are screwed if Kerry gets in. Our country will no longer be a world power. We will be under the UN and talk after talk, after talk, after talk. All the while cutting military budget and military weapons. We will be rendered impotent through this clown but we will still support, via taxes, all the foreign countries we are today. Pray for a Bush win--he simply has to!!
