When I go shopping in Atlanta, I see a lot of Nation of Islam women. They are truly scary...I wonder if this is as much a racial thing as a religious thing.
Shudder.

If it's so important to pray five times a day, maybe it's time for Muslims to start their own schools for their own convenience.

In Utah they let Mormon kids out for a period to be indoctrinated in the teaches of their false prophet, and I don't see why this is any bigger a deal.

Good, then you won't object to the same for Christian and Jewish students, right?

Let's demand fish on Fridays.
Let's demand daily chapel.
Let's demand and hour of Bible daily.

It's reasonable to oppose any accomodation for Muslims not allowed for Christians. With the American Muslim community coming out for Kerry, it's reasonable to question their motives. Bush has repeatedly courted the Muslim community and gone out of his way to say we weren't against Islam, just the terrorists. For the Muslims to say they're against him with his stand FOR them, then maybe they're all terrorist sympathiszers?

I remember fish every Friday when I attended Elementary School in Atlanta in the early 60's. I didn't like fish sticks so I allways took a PBJ. I guess things have changed.
I also remember my Dad telling me a Catholic could never be elected President around the same time. He was wrong.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this (got the suit on), but all of the Christians that are upset should bow to the Jewish people, not complain themselves.
If someone could please point out the last time kids were in school on Christmas or Good Friday, I will concede the point. However, how many of us are in school for our Sabbath?
The Jewish people have a true right to complain. I think the kids are in school for most of their holidays.
Besides, these are kids. They fast from sunrise to sunset. It has got to be tough on them to sit in the cafeteria during it.

Actually, I object to government schools in the first place. But while they exist, they should be reasonable about this stuff.

So then you agree that the same consideration be given for Christian and Jewish students?
