Found them! The reliable polls are, roughly speaking, Time, Battleground, Gallup!

If you want to know which polls you should watch and which you should ignore go the the Horserace Blog here.

I would Also include Foxnews/Opinion Dynamics to his list.

If I was a betting man I'd go onto tradesports right now and load up on ohio.bush This has been at $45 to win $100 recently which is way too pessimistic given this pair of polls and in particular this mason-dixon poll.

Have you factored Larrry Flynt into your equation?

BWA-HAHAHAHAH.

Cue Randy Quaid in "Independence Day": "I been sayin' it and sayin' it. Ain't I been sayin' it?"

Except it won't be THREE. By the time we herd all the faithful elephants to the polls, Bush will carry OH by 4-5% and you can all turn in early.

This was the poll I took on Wed.

I knew it, I knew it. And I just had a feeling in my gut that it would be three. In fact, I posted this somewhere on another thread. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

If they say three, Bush's lead with the GOTV is really closer to 5.

you're exactly right - we have to keep running like we're behind.

You know the 'Rats voter fraud is worth about 3 percentage points.

Mason-Dixon showing Bush up 48%-45% in OH would be great news, especially in light of the fact that last week's M-D poll of OH showed Bush up by only 1%. Of course, the release of the Osama videotape has the possibility of shaking up the electorate in one direction or the other, although I would wager that Osama's return to our TV screens will only help Bush. I think Bush will win even more comfortably than I thought (and I predicted a 52%-46% margin and 360 EVs).

I take comfort in the fact that if Osama intended to hit us with a terrorist attack to affect our elections, he would have done so instead of releasing a video three days before the elections that will only increase security. In Spain, al Qaeda carried out a terrorist attack three days before the election, and they didn't warn about it in a videotape.

good point.

[tryng to keep it simple]
equation 2: larry flynt + a bucket of sh*t = a bucket of sh*t.

I agree about late week polls. Often the candidate or party with momentum around Thurs-Sat. is the one who wins. I am optimistic. I find it hard to believe this bin laden tape is going to help kerry either.

yeh, those are good national polls. mason dixon does not do national as far as i know. only state polls. And generally they are the best. quinnipac (sp?) is pretty good too in the northeast. it will take a while for zog to recover his reputation in state polling after the wrecks of 2000 and 2004, altho his national polling is better regarded. The bottom of the barrel in my opinion is the la times.

Feeling much better now. Nerves calm. Fox +3, MD +3, Ras moving up; WaPo moving up Fox moving up. OBL issuing stupid statements and Kerry responding with even more stupid statements.

Looks like a 10:30 bedtime on Tues. for me!

I was thinking along the same lines.
