My guess is that releasing any info regarding Kerry's discharge without Kerry having signed the DD180 release form is a violation of privacy laws.
Since the original story was credited to a Former secretary of the Navy who happens to currently be a U.S. Senator any violation of law would be a very big deal indeed.
There are things worth going to jail over.
I agree with you. The Senator is being a whimp.
That is a post from yesterday.
threat of lawsuit?
Protecting our nation from Kerry and Company is one of them.
Someone knows the truth. I hope it gets out there before it's too late.
This is the original story:
Okay, folks.
We got it finally. We have the person who gave Kerry his Other Than Honorable Discharge.
Stay tuned for more...
Now to MAKE THE MEDIA AND CONGRESS LISTEN!
Go my brothers and sisters -- spread the news to everyone!!!!
- Chief
Doesn't say anything about a sitting Senator.
If it doesn't break before the election I hope they keep it for the next one. Unfortunately it will probably break on Nightline in December with Big Head Ted talking about how Kerry's discharge was a Red Badge of Courage. This sucks.
We have been advised that material was recently posted to this forum referencing the nature of John Kerry's discharge from the military service. That material has been deleted from this forum.

From Powerlineblog.com;
"News on Kerry's Discharge? I can't count the number of emails we've gotten from readers on the apparent mystery surrounding John Kerry's discharge from the Navy. There has been suspicion, but no hard evidence, that his original discharge was less than honorable, and that is why he refuses to make his military records public. It appears that the Swift Boat Vets may finally have broken through on this issue:
Okay, folks. We got it finally. We have the Former Secretary of the Navy who stated, "Yes, Kerry did receive an Other Than Honorable Discharge.
Stay tuned for more... We know nothing more, and I have no way to assess the credibility of this report. So far, however, the Vets' track record is very good."
I also know from being an active member at Swiftvets that discussions with a certain Senator who was Secretary of the Navy have been underway.
Yeah, I posted that here.
Doesn't mention a sitting Senator. I still have the entire deleted thread. Doesn't mention a sitting Senator/former Navy Sec anywhere.
Do you have a link to any other thread mentioning this sitting Senator?
"Blon-deee!!!"
Presumptively this referrs to John Warner, who would most likely have been the SecNav when Kerry was supposed to have received his discharge.
But a SecNav seldom is up to speed on the discharge of every LtJG who musters out on his watch.
But, Kerry called a lot of attention to himself in ways quite inconsistant with his standing as a commissioned officer, so the situation might have been a point of discussion and notice by SecNav.

I guess that the assumption is that it's John Warner, since he would have been the relevant Sec. of the Navy.
John Warner would have had sources. As a Senator and as a former Sec of Navy. Come to think of it, if Kerry's Honorable Discharge came in the Clinton administration, you would think somebody would have known the truth -- and that it would have been common knowledge at the time that Kerry entered Congress.
Do a search for Senator Warner. I will tell you though that you will find no reference to Sen. Warner having told anyone that Kerry recieved any particular kind of discharge for obvious reasons.
I respect the fact that you have the original thread - I do not doubt your word. However Powerline seems to also be quoting directly from the thread in question. Members at Swiftvets do have the ability to edit posts and it is possible that the comments Powerline quoted were edited out prior to your having seen the thread - I just don't know.
For my part, I'm simply putting two and two together from what I know has been discussed at Swiftvets and the Powerline blog. Hence my having qualified my original post in this thread with the words "My guess is...".
