Could you please provide your source for no tape being released before 9/11?
You want me to provide you with a source that states that videos were not released prior to 9/11?? LOL. You might want to read the post you replied to again. I was asking for sources that actually state that a tape was released prior to 9/11. I know there was one released afterward but cannot find reference to one being released prior. Your recollections aside.

So, I am wrong? There were no tapes released before the bombings? Is that what you are saying? Because that is what you claim in the original post. Bin Laden held a press conference in May 1998, where he spoke of "good news in coming weeks." This was 9 weeks BEFORE the African Embassy bombings. Furthermore, he released a videotape just a few weeks BEFORE the Cole Bombing. In this videotape, he was wearing a Yemeni dagger, and al-Zawahiri specifically called for attacks on U.S. forces in Yemen.
Furthermore, in the Summer before the 9/11 attacks, al Qaeda began circulating a videotape in the middle east and on the internet.

Here's a link as a starter: http://democrats.com/view.cfm?id=5942
Thanks for the link. It seems as if this tape was released in June of 2000. The author was writing in September of 2001 and referred to the tape 'surfacing last June'.
I do find it interesting that you would send a link supporting your position from a site that calls for the president's impeachment and buys into Michael Moore's conspiracy theories.

No, I did not say you were wrong. I said that recollections are unreliable. Not just yours. Everyones. You then spent some time researching the chain of events so that you could write a response. I did state that I believed that no tapes were released prior to the attack. The tape that people recall seems to have been a collection of clips from previous tapes and had been floating around for at least a year.

I did state that I believed that no tapes were released prior to the attack. You say that recollections are unreliable, and you then say that you "believed" that no tapes were released. What is the difference between recollections and beliefs? Actually, you never said anything about believing in the original post. You said:
"Question : How many video taped warnings did Al-Queda give before 9/11? Answer : None."
In any case, here is a transcript of the Bin Ladin tape from May of 1998: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/binladen/who/interview.html

Then please support this statement of "fact" with something, otherwise it sounds like it is just your recollection, which appears to be as faulty as everyone else's:

LOL. Are you off your meds? There isn't any source or news article regarding a video prior to 9/11. The only video that appeared prior to 9/11 surfaced at least 15 months prior and was a collection of earlier videos. If you want to believe that there was a video because 'it cannot be proven that there wasn't a video' you go right ahead....

Fine. I stand by my original post. There were no video taped warnings prior to the 9/11 attack other than a greatest hits video compilation released at least a year prior.
You obviously give the islamists a hell of a lot more credit than I do. I don't buy this garbage that they are going to warn us so we can watch it on tv.

ABC withheld the final 15 minutes of the tape from the CIA, where the alleged terrorist warns about Bush, Cheney, federal sources tell DRUDGE... MORE
To: stopillegalimmigration
How about if we sent them a video of our own? One telling them in graphic detail what will happen if they even try it.

Ah I see. 15 months prior to 9/11 is somehow not "prior to 9/11" in your world.

Ok, here's a link with proof about audio/video warnings: click here
and here: click here
Bottom line, over the last few years, the number of threats and warnings, video, audio, and web based, have increased. I distinctly recall that for the attack in Turkey, in Morocco, Spain, etc, there was shortly before that another 'warning'. In other words, it has been a long long time that an attack, esp al queda attack, has occurred and our reaction has been 'hey, you didn't warn us!' what a total suprise!!
9-11 wasn't a surprise to anyone who had been following terrorists, and their warnings, since the 1993 wtc attack. (Aq queda had been publishing all kinds of threats, which we were simply ignoring) The 93 attack was the last 'true' surprise ... at least for me. In the last couple of years esp, there has always been some kind of tape, that is issued, such that w/i about 8 weeks an alqueda type attack occurs somewhere.
Furthermore, the gov't, state dept also chimes in too before the attack.
All this is basically moot if we don't see an attack w/i the next two months. I think we will, ESPECIALLY if the US Gov't issues a specific warning.

Bin Laden sent a video to a Kuwaiti newspaper
three months before 9/11:
From his hideout in Afghanistan, bin Laden has continued to issue threats against the United States and to use his penchant for grand symbolism. "With small capabilities, and with our faith, we can defeat the greatest military power of modern times," he said in a videotape sent to a Kuwaiti newspaper three months ago. "America is much weaker than it appears."
