I can agree with all that.

"In case you haven't noticed, China is no longer Communist.
If in doubt, look in your sneaker or on the back of you digital camera. Tyrants, yes. Communists, no."

Oh no? Just watch for the moment we let our guard down on Taiwan. The scary thing is what we sow, we shall reap.

I like your take on the similarities between the Nazis and Chinese. You are correct to compare the two totalitarian regimes. But ultimately, with a dictator in place, private property rights are a "gift" to be revoked whenever the regime feels threatened, or really, whenever the tyrants feel like it. That's my instintive warning against US investment in China. They are a totalitarian regime hiding behind whatever economic structure gives them the best cover for their aggressive plans. (Same with Hitler, btw, it was the National Socialist Party, despite the so called standoff between "fascists" and communists -- two peas in a pod.)

I agree with your assessment.

A tyrant will take away property without any qualms regardless of his official ideology.

However, if we must battle a tyrannical enemy, I would prefer to battle a truly Communist regime rather than a Fascist regime.

Why?

Because true Communists have the ideological naivete to actually reject capitalism at all cost. As a result, the truly Communist economy is inherently inefficient and the Communists become their own worst enemy.

The Fascist, on the other hand, is not hamper by such ideological nonsense and will allow the economy to function in whatever combination of private and Government control proves to be the most efficient for the economic benefit of the State.

For that reason, the Fascist China of the 21st Century will be a much more dangerous enemy than the Communist China of the 20th Century.

I agree TOTALLY! They scare me more n the Islamofascists. Can you understand why US businesses are so hellbent on investing in China -- what besides their exploding population and slave labor camps is the draw?
