Isn't Raines the editor of the Guardian Rag that wants to do bad things to our President???
Steve Sailer's analysis:

I have a plan.
That may be quite true, but where does it leave Kerry? What has he done that makes him out to be such a genius? Working as a politician all his life and marrying wealthy women is certainly clever, but it doesn't engender a whole lot of respect from most people. Does Kerry's life story really make him seem smarter than Bush? I don't think so.
Besides, even if he where a certified genius, I'd still vote against him because he's a liberal Democrat. I don't care how smart he is, he's still wrong as hell about everything he believes.
I agree...we should see MSM getting in line with what has been going on outside the beltway for quite a while. They have gone about as far as they can go with Kerry and now they will try to salvage what little is left of their credibility!
Yes, I have been to many Mensa meetings.
bump
Ver interesting. Our President not only did better than Kerry, but much better than CLINTON and both did better than Al Franken And Garafalo... Rush Limbaugh doesn't surprise me at all -- you can tell he's brilliant.
Ain't it the truth? Over the years, Mensa have become nothing more than a mutual admiration society. The Mensa Bulletin ain't worth reading anymore. The whole thing is not worth the money.
Kerry probably bought someone to get those C grades for him, too.
That's waht rats - and scoialists - do...abandon the sinking ship
I have been told (repeatedly, even before 2000) that Bush was a poor student and only got "social promotion" types of grades. This comes from people who claim to know some of Bush's college roomates. The claim is that Bush was drunk and would have flunked were his family not so rich. FOAF stories aren't any more reliable in presidential politics than in UFOology, it seems.
These same people didn't like Bush in 2000, they think that his administration has been a disaster. (They do approve of the War On Afghanistan but not the War On Iraq.) For two years they have claimed that Bush has made things much more dangeroud by ignoring terrorists and going after Iraq. This group had been joined by a couple of former Bush supporters (who just didn't like Gore). They dislike Bush much more than Reagan (whom the disliked but respected; there's no respect for Bush.) They're even more intense than the Conservives were against Clinton (whom this group didn't like either.)
hehe! Me, too, WAY!
If Kerry is truly "in the top percentile," it wasn't the "40 years of (dubious) public service," it was marrying two women with an combined fortune of at least 1.3 billion dollars. That's quite an accomplishment considering the power that makes him attractive to rich women has gone pretty much unused until now.
Out of my league? Are you kidding me? I'd much rather hang out on FR than a Mensa meeting. I didn't join Mensa. I went to a few meetings to check it out, and that was it. My husband did join, and is still a member, but never attends meetings. Personally, I don't feel the need to hang a Mensa plaque on my office wall letting everyone "think" I am smarter than they are. For me, I don't see the benefit of sending membership dues to a group such as this, but I know others feel differently. I'm really not in to arguing for sport.
Good. Then you start a Mensa thread. J
First one's true, the second one I take issue with. Here's why:
This is all going exactly how the media wants. All of them, including Fox News, are playing this as a "coming down to the wire" scenario. All indicators are starting to point toward the President having the momentum going into the last week of the election. Internals are looking real good. Hawaii is what made me think the MSM type polls are shifted to what ever they want it to be.
The point being, since they are all doing things in their own interest as any business should do (read that as whore's if you like), giving the appearance of a close contest is more interesting than the blow out it's gonna be. All this lawyer crap that's flying around and being hyped would be payday for media companies. The controversy would just increase their bottom line - ratings.
In the last week of the election the media is sensing a blowout. They know America doesn't think Kerry can protect us as well as the President. The internals show a wide lead for the Prez there, and it's only getting wider. There's just so much juicy stuff on Kerry that they have ignored, they could have a field day bringing him down. This Times piece is just a little taste. Imagine all the goodies the left wing media has on Kerry they could spring.
I'm not really seeing why a Kerry presidency would be all that great for the media, besides the controversies and scandals that it would entail. The terror attacks that would occur on our homeland might get some ratings, but surely that can't be a motivation.
