This is sincere love and affection for the President.

Yes, it is, along with, I think, a deep respect and gratitude for all he's done to protect us since 9/11.

I don't have an estimate of the crowd size, OWF. But other FReepers who know the stadium say it can hold up to 30,000.

Whenever I can, I'm posting these "size of the crowds" threads just to help us keep our spirits up.

Thanks.

Has anyone noticed that hardly any of Kerry's rally pictures show the crowd?

But for some reason, this thread has me thinking about chocolate bars.

Well, Hershey is a town made from chocolate.

There are plenty of potentially good senate candidates here in California. But I think so many people have bought into the notion that Republicans can't win here anymore (other than a big celebrity like Arnold), that it discourages them from giving it a try.

It's been noticed here on almost every "Kerry appearance" thread. It ain't happening, and sometimes it's complete staged for the cameras with a rent-a-crowd.

A number of FReepers have noted the same thing. Also some FReepers who live near where Kerry rallies are held report that his crowds are much smaller.

The whole family is great looking. The girls are beautiful young women and Mom and Dad Bush are just a striking couple. I was impressed with these pictures of Barbara. She just seems so real, but amazingly beautiful.

I love his secret service guys. They are so attentive to him. I know it is their job, but it makes me feel so much better that they are actually reported to really like him. So said, he has a bar-b-que for them every year and sits with them, talks and eats with them. I bet this is much different than the last administration.

Those are some amazing pictures. Have we had any president in recent history drawing crowds this large, so consistently and enthusiastically?

Man that kid of his is a knockout, she is aging nicely.

There is something profoundly likable about GWB. He is such an ordinary guy, and people want to pull for him. I went to one of his events and he was just great. Everyone there --and it was a big crowd-- felt very warm towards him. He feels like family.

It is such a different vibe. The photos of Kerry interacting with his base are so different. There is no affection there. Kerry comes off like an aloof snob and his base comes off like
seething whackjobs.

Bush looks like one of us and Bush's base is made up of solid citizens. It is night and day.

Were you there today? I guess that's a stupid question, eh?

I got there about 3:55pm and weasled a ticket from one of the people out front at the entrance.

I looked around for freepers but couldn't find any obvious ones or signs, etc.

I was about 50 yards from "the man" when he came on stage. What a great crowd and energetic performance! Whew!!

Your poll concerns...

There are 10 polls out right now. 9 show Bush in the lead. 1 shows Kerry in the lead. Yahoo talks about the one showing Kerry in the lead. No bias?

Rasmussen: Bush 49, Kerry 46
TIPP: Bush 48, Kerry 45, Nader 1
Zogby: Bush 46, Kerry 45, Nader1
Marist: Bush 49, Kerry 48, Nader 1
Pew: Bush 47, Kerry 47, Nader 1
Harris: Bush 49.5, Kerry 44.5,Nader 1**
NBC News: Bush 48, Kerry 48, Nader 1
FOX News: Bush 49, Kerry 42, Nader 2
*AP-Ipsos: Kerry 49, Bush 46, Nader 2
