I've always been a fan of Ernie Banks. And now to find out he's voting for President Bush!

Go, Cubs!

{{{and no, you can't have my autographed 8x10 glossy of him that I stood in line for hours to get}}}

I didn't know who to root for tonight... the Astros or the Cardinals. After seeing Beltran and Biggio's names here, now I know. Go ASTROS!!!

And now, Christian4Bush's "Deep Thoughts".

(insert Yanni music)

I was thinking this morning, one team is from the President's state, the other team's home stadium is named Bush (ok...Busch)...so that is a push.

My other thought is that, if Houston wins today, Boston and Houston would play in a championship round. That actually happened before, though not in baseball. It was in basketball, when the Boston Celtics played the Houston Rockets.

The year? 1996, which was the last year that the Red Sox reached the World Series. Interestingly enough, in both of their WS runs, they beat the California/Anaheim Angels (who, ironically, have won a WS more recently than have the Red Sox).

Just a thought. /deep thought

Now, for my pick: Houston, with Clemens on the mound, will defeat the Cardinals. Game Three will likely be on Tuesday, one week prior to Election Day, and a most important member of the United States Government will be in attendance at Houston to throw out the first pitch...after his WAR CRIMINAL opponent has once again bounced one in the dirt from the grass in front of the bump.

Just a reminder if you do throw that pitch, Mr. President: In Houston, we pitch from the mound.

BTW, my pick is Houston in five.

I would LOVE a photo of Kerri Strug standing next to the Mailman holding Bush Cheney signs

The caption for the photo would read: The long and the short of it--Vote for Bush/Cheney!

EXCELLENT!!!

"(who, ironically, have won a WS more recently than have the Red Sox)."

I think everyone not named the Sox has one a World Series more recently than Boston. ;-)

Um no...the Chicago Cubs last won in 1908. The century mark is coming up for them. The Red Sox have won the World Series 5 times including the very fist which only a handful of teams have exceeded in number.

Likely a Rove tactic. Let the DNC and Soros spend all their money ALL YEAR LONG until it is depleted. Then bring out the big supporters for Bush at the end of the election cycle.

DNC people are just so dumb.

Elway's been a loyal Republican for years. His endorsement doesn't hurt, but Coloradan's are for for Bush-Cheney anyway. No doubt about it.

Yes, and Tom Landry, although Roger Staubach was by far the one athlete I've most admired from childhood on.

I'm proud of the athletes and the letter they wrote.

Kind of difficult to read the signatures though.
