Cheney responds, ''Big time!''
My memory is probably failing me, but wasn't Cheney's response "Major Leage"?

You know that's an idea. If the shot gun kicks back and injures his shoulder, maybe that would qualify for another Purple Heart?

I don't think he was mocking. I think he was geniunely trying to fit in. Which just proves how condescending he is!....
There is nothing *genuine* about this man. He was trying to fit in (for their votes) by choosing his words very carefully--using grammar that he knew to be incorrect. It shows a particular consiousness which, in effect, IS mocking, as well as being condescending.

What is a "Clymer"? Is this like a rabbid dog, or what? The term Clymer goes back to the 2000 election. At a rally where Bush and Cheney both appeared they notice a certain gentleman journalist with the last name of Clymer. I have forgotten his first name. There was an open microphone and the Bush and Cheney were having a discussion about this fellow. One of them said something like "Oh, there's Mr. Clyer that guy's a real assh**e" It got picked up by the press who made a big to do about it. Since that time when someone wants to call someone an assh**e they use the word Clymer instead.

Not having been present at the press conference, I cannot directly contradict you on this point. Both our information is second-hand, but, there were **numerous** threads here on that amusing little episode, and I shouldn't wonder but that a bit of searching in spring/summer 2000 wouldn't turn up a word-for-word transcription.

Oh Hell!! No!!!! we won't accept anything from that Ma. Chump. We hold him in disdain for being in America and a sad-sack excuse for a US Senator. Bush/Cheney 2004 Let's Roll

"John Kerry was an obstacle to flu vaccine production as recently as last year when he opposed the Health Act to encourage vaccine production," Bush spokesman Steve Schmidt said.Stephanie Cutter, Kerry's communications director, said the senator's opposition to the bill was based on the bill's liability protection for vaccine makers."
This is all news to me. It seems that these two facts should be shouted to the world.
To: GoldwaterBooster
This guy is embarrasing to watch. Talk about the ultimate in pandering. Oh yeah, I'm supposed to believe in the sincerity of a patrician snob from Boston who walks into a store in blue collar southern Ohio and asks for a hunting license. These staged "I'm just like regular people" routines are hilarious.
