I was at a Women In Film film festival here in Dallas a few weeks ago, and one of the films was a short directed by an acquaintance of mine, about some Texas women who went out in the country and formed their naked bodies into the word PEACE for an aerial photo. Sadly, most of them were not the typical Texas woman: i.e., one who looks good naked.

But the interesting thing to me was that the film was not just a knee-jerk liberal promotion of the event. It included some of their loopy, deadpan rationale for why this was actually going to make a difference in our foreign policy, and the mostly female (and I imagine, mostly liberal) audience couldn't help but laugh. Even to liberal feminists, this is so ridiculous, it's funny.

Or maybe my laughter was just contagious.
