It is also still a mystery to me how on earth he would get on the Dick Cavett show, soon after returning from the war, what was his significance? Then a month later we find he's in Paris talking to North Vietnamese leaders. He had a sponsor on one side or the other that is not being revealed, it would appear.

Could have been some sort of spy or informant, or could be (and still may be) part of a leftist effort that is not fully revealed.

Something is really off about Kerry, he has gotten away with way too much without being called on it. What made him teflon back then and what makes him teflon now?

Kerry seems to have been protected back in the 70s by Ted Kennedy for whom Kerry worked (at the age of 18 he was working in TK's office), and also by Senator Fulbright.

If you read a bit about Fulbright, it's obvious that he didn't have the best interests of the country at heart, and it's not a stretch to think he was promoting this war protester/VN veteran, who fit perfectly into efforts to stop the war at any cost.

Kerry had 2 powerful protectors, 2 US Senators, that's what it looks like to me.

I guess you're right, he was born into some powerful connections. Still, from his record it is absolutely amazing he got to be a Senator. It is also amazing that his Vietnam-era activities didn't preclude the Democrats from selecting him.

IMO, he's right in step with the controlling faction of the democrat party, which was taken over by the 60s radicals.

They went from being the bomb-throwers AT the system in the 60s, to being INSIDE the system today.

Most dems today don't have a clue what happened to their party. And if the media, one of the institutions that the 60s radicals control, has its way, most people will never find it out.

Kerry is the standard bearer for the 60s radicals who once again are close to taking over the WH. Heck, from their point of view, what could be better? A real veteran who can fool a lot more people than their previous icon, clinton, who was a draft dodger.

I don't know that he'll fool any more people than Clinton did. Because Kerry has one part "veteran" status (his whopping four months of turning tail in combat and trying to get himself out with fake purple hearts), but nine parts "anti-veteran" status. Clinton may have protested the war, but he didn't go around negotiating with North Vietnam and working with domestic terrorists.

Kerry is just so thoroughly documented doing such disgraceful things, he would seem tainted even by an "average American" perspective, let alone a "patriotic American" perspective. I'm extremely surprised he has 40-something percent, it looks to me like whoever chose him didn't want to win.

Well, you have a good point, but I'm not sure most people are able to get their information from anywhere but the MSM. In a better world, the American people would be better informed, but I'm not sure that's this world.

I'm extremely surprised he has 40-something percent, it looks to me like whoever chose him didn't want to win.

That's probably the likeliest reason for what we're seeing, that he's really only a seat-warmer till Hilliary can thunder on in, 4 years from now.

Lockhart said today on Blitzer that all of John Kerry's military records have been released, and of course he was not challenged. Disgraceful.

> Hilliary can thunder on in, 4 years from now.

They probably saw the bin Laden threat and said "sheesh, we don't want a Democrat in office, even though we're Democrats, let's see, do we have any more candidates that are damaged goods? Dukakis? Nah, already used him, how about his old hench?"

Hitlery probably thinks she'll let Bush take care of this threat, then she can let things slide again as Clinton did.

Yes, let the Pres do the dirty work now, but then later when he's out of office, and something goes wrong, it will be so easy to blame him for whatever it is, because of Hilliary's willing minions in the media.

The dems have covered all angles!

Went here:

http://www.johnkerry.com/contact/contact.php

Sent the campaign this:

Just a short note to let you know that we are receiving our mail ballots in Oregon now and that I have cast my vote for George W. Bush.

As you know, recent polls suggest the Republican ticket may very well win Oregon's seven electoral votes, and it is my fervent hope that he does.

If your ticket does lose Oregon (and again I hope that you do), I think it's important that you understand why.

Though Oregon leans Democratic, we are, for the most part, traditional working family folks who are independent, patriotic, supporters of low taxes and limited government, supporters of the second amendment as it was written and intended to be enforced, and we have more than our share of sons and daughters serving our country at war.

While we are certainly aware that John Kerry is a Vietnam veteran, we are also aware of his conduct and record from the time he left Vietnam until the present. The record of those actions contradicts his words in the campaign activities that we have seen, and also contradict with our values as stated above.

Those of us who are casting our votes for Bush are not necessarily 100% in support of all of his administrations actions and policies, but we think that right now he is the best candidate for Oregon and for our country.

We wish the Senator the best in his future endeavors.

Used my real name and address (guess I better hope he doesn't win).

It seems her lead topic will be the less than honorable discharge many suspect Kerry received from the Navy.

What really pisses me off, is that no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE in the media has asked the Traitor for his "180" release of his military/medical records!!! NO ONE!!!

And for at least two weeks now the crowd at Fox News Sunday has let Juan Williams say that the Swiftees have been discredited of their claims against Kerry.

THAT IS TOTAL UNADULTERATED BS!!!

While I share the hope of most Freepers that voters find out about the real John Kerry before the election, I wonder if this story will not go the way of most of the tales on FR and never see the light of day. How many times do we talk about things with enthusiasm that "something will happen," and nothing ever does?
Are we actually going to see some results here?
