""In a way, I would kind of like to vote for Kerry," said Foldery, a remarkable statement from a man who always has voted Republican. "But I just don't know, because I still don't know that I can fully trust him."

What is remarkable about a 29 year old who has always voted Republican? Twice, maybe. If that referred to someone like me, who first voted for a republican for president in 1960, it might be remarkable, but it ain't going to happen (vote for a dem) this time either.

Edina ain't no Dem stronghold. It may be socially moderate, but definitely fiscally conservative. All those millionaires like to keep their bucks... and Jim Ramstad's represented that district for eons.

Sorry, Edina Minnesota is one of the wealthiest communities in the US, very strong Republican stronghold - I know, I grew up their.

Actually, I take that back. It might be Sabo's district, but I'll bet that's only because of Minneapolis. (And you're right that there are lots of Kerry signs along France Avenue, but if you get into the southwest/Southdale part of Edina you're talking Bush/Cheney country.)

Sorry, Go look around Edina. Lots of Kerry Edwards signs. Just like South Minneapolis, LOTS of Limousine Liberals.

OK, I will go take a look. I may have miss that because I was thinking a lot of that was Eden Prairie.

Drive through Indian Hills, the Country Club area, over by Interlachen, I can't believe these people are going to vote for Kerry.

Well, I refer to these people as not quite Ed Koch or not quite Zell Miller. I too don't think you'll find too many Republicans who would vote for Kerry. Free Republic has had some conservatives who have suggested a Kerry presidency and a Republican congress would gridlock the country so that would be a good thing....

I think some reasonably intelligent democrats may yet be undecided. They didn't like Bush in 2000, but after 9/11 fell in love or at least strong like with him. Now, three years later all their old democrat ghosts are coming back to haunt them, such as hating tax cuts, hating big business, supporting abortion, etc. However, they like Bush still. For Ed Koch and Zell Miller, the choice was easy. Staying alive trumps socialist policies.

for these undecided folks, the problem is they like Bush. They're reluctant to dump him. They wouldn't do that to a friend. Unlike Ed and Zell, they don't recognize just how precarious our national security is in regard to the terrorists, so can't make the final connection that would firmly put them in the Bush camp. So they're flirting with Kerry and his liberalism, because that's dancing with who brung them to the dance. They just think Bush is really hot.

This is a great advantage to Bush, though. They may probably come home to their dem roots at some point, but it might not be until after the Bush presidency.

The Bulk of Edina is in the 5th District, not Ramstad's 3rd.

I will say anything to get your vote. You who are crippled rise and walk arm in arm with me to the voting booth for I will cure all sickness and ills.... .I will distort the Presidents record to make him look bad and you will be drawn, drawn, drawn I tell you, with my hypnotic darting tongue... Even as I tell you in my story of hunting in Iowa you will never know that the Assault Weapons Ban did not work because an AK-47 was found in the house of the bad guy... but I will have twisted it in such a way as to make it look like it is the presidents fault.. and I will talk of secret plans and secret meetings and I will spin and spin so you never really see my true face and I , I, I, who have seared memories of Cambodia and haunting calls from dying actors that are in a coma and speak of words of my mother from her dying hospital bed even though she actually died at home.. I, I, I, will hypnotize you into thinking that I am something that I am not.... You will never expose me for who I really am because the media wants me to be president or didn't you know that ... I was born to run...I was born in the westwing even though it was the northwing but you will never know.... I have brought down presidents in the past and twisted and lied in wars before.. I can do it again.... and I will silence my critics with threats of destruction... you may never know how deeply disturbed I really am... you will never know of my service record and its distorted facts... you will never hear from my fellow servicemen who try to expose me.... because I am a puppet of George Soros and Ted Kennedy and I will never be exposed....

And then the Lesbian remark which will prove to be your undoing will hopefully expose you for who you really are.

Isn't that ST Louis Park? Why all the Kerry-Edwards signs there then? Come outside the 494-694 ring and it is heavy Bush country.

How long does it take the liberal press to find these people?

Guaranteed to be at least one on nearly every street corner in America, plus a number in every mall and movie theater. Never overlook the fact that the average IQ is 100, which means that on a bell curve with 100 being the center top, many millions will fall on the lower end of the curve.

On the other hand, even a high IQ doesn't guarantee that a person will have the common sense God gave a flea.

If MN goes for Bush this year, it will be because of the new "exurbs" outside of the 494/694 loop. I'm no fan of urban sprawl (I live in downtown Mpls.), but THANK GOD for all those suburbanites! :-)

If Minnesota goes for Bush it will be because the Bush camp organized early and is fighting VERY hard for the state. I just hope the Iron Rangers stick with their principals instead of their party this time. They are pretty much Conservative Demos up there and Bush is a lot more in touch with their core values then Kerry will ever be. Here is hoping COMMON SENSE trumps HABIT this time around.
