Its not a matter of shame. Its a matter of dragging people's personal lives out to bash others with them.
Why didn't Kerry cite Gov. McGreevey?
You linked to a members-only AOL site.
That's fine. They can spin. They reported it and also reported that Kerry statement had nothing to do with how the Chaney's raised their daughter. Its pretty much impossible to report the facts and spin it in a way that is a plus for Kerry. At least they aren't burying it like I thought they would.
Hopefully will come on other sites soon, Yahoo etc
Bush probably had to bite his tongue so not to say it....
Yes, the fact they are covering it even with spin is a plus for W.
It's called class. One could tell from Cheney's response and body language that he'd have appreciated keeping his daughter out of the debate. The question concerning the Marriage Ammendment was directed at Cheney who answered without bringing his family into the debate. After Edwards answered by bringing Cheney's daughter into the debate, Cheney was given the opportunity to respond. Cheney thanked Edwards for his kind words about "my family" and dropped the subject even though the moderator tried to prompt him for more.
I think both the Edwards comments and the Kerry comments were entirely without class given the circumstances under which they were made.
Kerry is as sensitive as a bull in a china shop.
Hopefully about a half million undecideds will agree.
The families ESPECIALLY THE KIDS are OFF LIMITS... Always have been, Until Kerry/Edwards...
Ronald Reagan didn't say to Jimmy Carter "I appreciate your faith... too bad you can't get your brother off the bottle..."
George Bush never said "Governor Clinton, If we talked to your Brother Roger, He would say he doesn't CHOOSE to be a drug addict. Thats why my war on drugs is so important."
The candidates are free to say anything they want about each other, but bringing in the kids, and WORSE, PRETENDING TO SPEAK FOR THEM TO SERVE YOUR INTERESTS, is sick...
Just as terrorism ia the tactic of the weak so attacking the children of one's opponent is also. They are losing.
Hmmm.....I sure wouldn't want to be on Mr & Mrs Dick Chenney's enemy's list. Dick seems like the kind of guy that enjoys pay-back. I think that Edwards & Kerry will have some Senate surprises in the coming year after Bush wins.
Kerry should be the expert on mental health and dementia. After all, he is the foremost practioner on how to marry rich old nutty broads.
Kerry should apologize to the Cheney Family, if he was any kind of a man he would. And that Big Mouth Fat Slob Elizabeth Edwards should keep her comments to herself.
I'm so sick of dem's unending self-serving excuses and the MSM ability to believe anything they say -- no matter how stupid or base.
But others said Kerry's comments seemed well within bounds, especially because Mary Cheney has been public about her sexuality and because her father has discussed it openly before.
I heard the Kerry's have a problem with their new washing machine - it only has a spin cycle.
It's sad to see how low the john/john ticket has gone in relation to this story. No other presidential campaign has ever done anything this bad, even though the rule of families being exposed is largely an unspoken rule.
This can do nothing but get the Republican base even more energized. I have people working with me who called themselves "undecided" until this incident. The will now vote for Bush/Cheney. They cannot stand the lying scumbags anymore.
