write a nice, polite letter to the school board explaining why you're home-schooling now.
North Carolina advice needed.
Go here: http://www.hardylaw.net/Truth_About_Bowling.html
Print it out, send it to the a-hole teacher and demand that she give copies to all the students.
That's a start.
A similar incident happened in Beaumont, TX. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1245356/posts
I don't know where these people get the nerve to do this.
I never saw that movie so I don't know what is in it. Don't do anything rash. I am sure that someone who knows how to address this will speak up.
" HAVE HAD IT. Not only do I not send my child to school to have propaganda shoved down her throat, she is 15 and the movie is rated R. We don't allow her to see R rated movies yet she can go to school and see them without her parents permission?"
That is what I would say in a phone call to the school superintendant AND the president of the school board!! INSANE!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't let it die. They will more than likely try to please you- especially if you get several other parents involved in this issue. Don't let them pay you lip service- demand to see action. And hold them accountable for whatever they say they are going to do. Be reasonable, but be firm. Good luck.
First of all did you educate your daughter on what was wrong with the movie and why.
Quietly and calmly, sit down and write a letter to the teacher with copies for the principal. Ask what the purpose was for the children being shown this film. Short, sweet and simple without divulging your anger. Get the response IN WRITING. Then go to any media outlet you can find and blow their doors off!
Yep. Schools without students don't get a shot at the federal money nipple.
I just emailed Drudge.
email Sean. He was hot today when a parent called in about Fahrenheit 911, and wnated the school's name, the names of the principle and the teacher.
Sounds like a job for TaxDeduction1 !
Can yo give us more information on the school and teacher involved. I would be happy to send a note of concern as well.
I cannot believe that schools just go ahead and show such trash!! It makes me glad that my son is grown up and married. Now all I have to worry about is where my son will send his kids to school.
I am hearing about this everywhere. A senior at a local radio talk show here in Pensacola called in and said his history teacher is driving him nuts, because he's always badmouthing Reagan. He also asked the students on the first day to raise their hands if they've ever shot a gun. (to tell who the Republicans are, he said)
The host told him he should report this to the superintendant of schools (who is a Republican) ASAP.
But I'm glad to see that the kids are fighting back .
