I believe all the writers are liberals except one.

Also, Matthew Perry and Christian Slater both played conservatives... Matthew Perry was portrayed as particularly intelligent.

I watched most of the episode tonight, and I liked it. Alan Alda's Republican character was a senator from California and described as smart and caring.

Yeah, most of the time Hollywood doesn't bother to move beyond the evil stereotype, but sometimes they do get it and write multi-layered Republicans.

It is interesting. Alda is known as quite the liberal...

I don't remember hearing him being too outspoken lately (i.e. this last election), but I think his politics are well known.

The episode last night showed him as a sharp guy. Not mean, and not an "evil republican" type caricature. I did notice that the slipped in that he is Anti-Partial birth abortion, but not pro-life. I don't think Hollywood is ready to portray an intelligent person as pro-life yet.

We'll see how it unfolds.

Jesse Ventura is available.

Have you seen him since he endorsed Kerry?

He began by explaining his new look - long black hair and a braided beard. "I did this for a simple reason. I stand for freedom. And freedom in this country means freedom to look like you want to," Ventura said.

and Alan Alda ("M*A*S*H") vying for the GOP nomination.

Alda's not THAT good of an actor.

He'll play him as a villian, "Dr. Evil" and all that. Starving the poor, evicting widows, tax cuts for his friends, FBI sicced on his enemies, etc. You can see it coming.

No...they'd have to rename it to "THE RIGHT WING".

John Goodman is liberal. I've met him a few times. He is huge... nearly as big as Michael Moore. One time I saw him heading into the bathroom at Barnes & Noble with a couple of Sunday newspapers under his arm. Looked like he was planning to be in there all day.

Thanks alot for that lovely image.

The real West Wing was a Republican creation. It was built in 1902 for Teddy Roosevelt to alleviate crowding of the upper floor of the White House where the President quarters and offices were located. His family of 6 children overtaxed the facility and the West Wing was a temporary addition which eventually became permanent.

I would love to see more Republican entertainment, instead of liberal propaganda. However, if they did have a Republican president, they would only use it to show how evil or stupid Republicans are.
