I don't think he is really even denying that it happened. I suspect the lawsuit is to protect Fox from damages. I suspect O'Reilly knows he can't' deny it happened. The issue is whether it was actually sexual harrassment in the legal sense. As far as his career is concerned, I don't think it'll make much difference.
goodness gracious...lol..you have got to be kidding me...
The woman is claiming that she was FORCED to have phone sex with him. Now lets think about this for a minute. She was FORCED to have phone sex with him. If you believe that I would like to sell you.............
The Plaintiff can be seen really struggling with the harassment and may have a legit complaint. He is her boss and the harassment would come in spurts. he would harass for awhile and then let it go when she seemed to rebuff it strongly. I have seen this many times in the real world. So i see no subterfuge in her taking four years of this and putting up with it.
I do have a problem with the amount she sued for; with coming back to Fox possibly gunning for O'Reilly. Also I am in puzzlement over how this woman had such an incredible word for word recollection of O'reilly from the earliest it seems.
This woman was not a flake it appears and was well educated and ambitious in her career. She was a professional and was more Republican it appears than not, being an intern for Bush One.
But how and why does she hire an attorney like Morelli? How does she file such a well put together suit so soon after her last report of harassment (9-21-2004)?
I am not going to KILL O'Reilly for this. But OR is going to have to depend on support from his original 'base' if he hasn't totally alienated them (I believe it was people like us who have not been impressed by his recent betrayals)
Have you even heard some of the crap this guy was saying recently?
He's a closet liberal looking to get cBS to hire him. < /rant >
Yes - (referring to immediate post above) - Bill could no longer be remotely called a conservative host. If there is any malice it may be against Fox generally...
Book him Danno
She is an extremely bright woman. I can believe she would have total recall of words so shocking and so troublesome from her boss. Also, those being harassed(age, disability, sexual) are told early to keep a diary of all actionable remarks.
Furthermore, she has a corroborating witness--her classmate who dined with her and O'Reilly on several occasions. This other woman can back her up on O'Reilly's coarse and harssing remarks that they should go up to his hotel room for a "threesome".
And then, she also has taped phone calls.
She has covered all her bases.
Yes - this is the hidden biggie in all analysis, that has to be taken into account. She actually has a third party who can verify a portion of what she has said first hand....
I have read him his rights. Put together a pretty well written letter to his Fox email addy today ...
Joking aside, I feel responsible and bad for my daughter who adored BO (not recently though, recently she has been put off almost as much as me) and has an autographed book by him...and what about all those parents who bought his kiddie book recently?
I watched this lawyer with his client on a TV program. I listened to him and to the client. She worked for the Factor and left for CNN. She returned to the Factor and soon after a threat and legal activity follows. O'Reilly is not a favorite of mine but this thing smells to high heaven. She returns from CNN and tries to get money? Ugh. Had he done what she claimed why would she return? MONEY. SET UP. I hope O'Reilly nails them both
I don't think that I'm going to start the name calling yet still. There's too much that's unsure of, and frankly, I've enjoyed watching O'Reilly for too long to turn on him without understanding the situation.
Doesn't matter how pretty the complaint looks. This woman suffered no career detriment, and therefore has no case. She should not be able to withstand summary judgment; oreilly's lawyers point this out right off the bat. This should never make it to trial.
Same exact thing happened with clinton v. jones. jones admitted no career detriment. clinton should have moved and won a summary judgment motion. Had he done this, he never would have perjured himself, and the scandal would have never come to light. Ironic, clinton getting screwed by a lawyer.
You know whats funny, remember O'reilly had on Laura Ingraham last month. He kept calling her mistress Laura.
I think O'reilly has the hots for Laura.
this is a funny bit about the O'Rielly scandle
it's a game but also has some good pics.
