There is no real difference between the two.
Saddam used poison gas against innocent civilians who lived in villages, and Hitler used poison gas against civilians who had been herded into gas chambers.

I think the Nazi-Japan scenerio was likely to happen again, as Saddam would have willingly given WMD's to terrorists (if he hadn't already done so). Saddam had the WMD's...period! It really amazes me that so many on the left (and some "independents") think that there were no WMD's to begin with, eventhough there was clear evidence that Saddam used them against the Kurds and Iran in the late 1980s. Many of these same critics also have forgotten that Saddam kicked out the UN inspectors in 1998, as he had "something" to hide. Finally, I have to laugh when many of these Bush-bashers feel that Saddam suddenly had an "awakening" and chose to destroy the WMD's. Yeah, and Hitler was a finalist for the Noble Peace Prize in the 1930s.

Funny, but it seems that Slobadon Milosevic did not have WMD's either. But we didn't hear a peep from the anti-war crowd in the late 1990s. Like they say at Protest Warrior..."war is not the answer, unless a democrat is President".

Actually, the machine gun was one of the original WMD, along with the poison gas of WWI, but the machine gun, with its ability to chew up huge numbers of enemy in a massed charge certainly qualifies.

There was this little cannon I saw on Wild West Tech that they used on the indians in the 1880s. It had a cute little shell and you could load and fire about 15 rounds per minute. They demo'd it. A bad arsed little WMD.

Also, all WWII German soldiers carried gask masks with them. They were carried in those cylindrical metal cases, usually attached to their backs.

Hitler was a victim of a gas attack during WWI at Ypres Salient. I have read that he didn't order chemical weapons used on the battlefield during WWII because of his experience during WWI.
