Actually, everything Kerry says, he says with a straight face. He and Pelosi are the same in that regard.

I think you meant SMOOTH face.

Yes, I fear that Bush's New Tone is his undoing. It appears that compromising with liberals does nothing but give us more liberalism. I earnestly hope that Bush can prove me wrong by winning re-election in a landslide with long enough coattails to give him effective control over the Senate and helping the 'Rat Party go the way of the Whigs. Ideologically, I'd have to bet on this happening. Psychologically, I'd be very reluctant today, I'm sad to say, to bet the family's baby shoe money on Bush winning. Something needs to happen to turn the momentum in favor of Bush, which turned to sKerry's favor on September 29 (see Iowa Electronic Markets, Presidential Election Winner Take All market).

Interesting that Reuters still can't give Bush momentum. No, he's still only "seeking" it. Kerry, of course, "has" momentum if he manages to walk and crew gum at the same time.

Disagree. One reason his JA has held at 50% and his "likeability" has stayed so high has precisely been because of the "new tone." That is serving him very well here in the last month, when people just don't like Kerry. Had Bush gone medieval on the Dems for the last two years, I think he would already have lost.

I hope you're right. Post-election in 2000 and 2002 I have to admit that Bush surprised the heck out of me. I'll give him credit for having far greater political intelligence than what I have. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised one more time.

By the way, I found this recent tidbit from Drudge uplifting: Kerry: 'We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance'...

Fortunately, it seems that Quick John just can't keep his mouth shut. He insists on giving us a glimpse at his inner self--a cut & run, tax & spend liberal.

Help? With the MSM cheerleading squad in full homecoming whore mode, we know that "Hype is on the way!"

While talking on the phone with my mother about the old hometown, it became clear as crystal that all the loud, obnoxious community pains-in-the-butt are Democrats. Perpetually pi$$ed-off, pushy propagandists run the franchises these days.

This is all over the news. I believe this comment has sealed the election, and possibly a landslide. The "Undecideds" are gonna be sick over this.
