Accept you file a bogus lawsuit, you pick up the tab. Think that'd keep Edwards ilk in check?

You just file it in a court friendly to your side. After all, it is privatized.

A privatized judicial system would be set up by the lawyers to their best interest. Imagine being sued by a lawyer in the Netherlands filed by a guy in South Africa in a court in NJ because the guy's brother in Tennessee got shot while tresspassing on your land Nevada ...

After all, it is privatized.

It'd still have to be agreed upon by both sides. That be a hell of a lot better than trying to ram anything thorugh say the 9th Circus.

As for George Senior, the Gun control he signed was an Import ban. Got it via Executive order when he couldn't get the legislation pushed through. George Sr. was not a gun friendly "conservative" by anyones stretch of imagination.

10 year olds are currently doing those things. They didn't used to. Badnarik wants it to be like when those things DIDN't happen. Why do you want to keep them like they are?

If you change your "Big L" to a "small l", you'll rest much easier; I know I did. Now, I don't bother getting worked up about all this. Pragmatism has it's advantages, especially post 9/11.

Already done that. I'm more of a Boortz type libertarian. Have been since last year.

I'm serious though. I put it contingent upon Bush letting the AWG lapse in exchange for my vote. He let it lapse, he has my vote unless he signs something worse between now and then...

Boortz is a sensible guy, and at least being a L/libertarian diffuses half of the Dems arguments, since they're mostly just attacks on Republicans. I first saw him do that to Phil Donahue and he had to keep repeating he wasn't a Republican. I had the same argument with a Democrat a couple weeks ago. This guy was a Democrat just because his dad was, and he had no idea any of these beheadings were torturous kniving by Islamo-fascists. Just clueless who the enemy is, as are most Dems. Of course, when I hear the LP saying "open borders" and all that business, I think, "Lunacy!"

Open borders would work. Under the right circumstances. For now, slam the boereders shut. Enlist the citizen militia if you need to.

I would agree with both of you both on most issues related to concepts surrounding the rule of law. However, I'm comparing Libertarians to Democrats. What I'm arguing is that the philosophical argument for small government is far less dangerous to us than the internationalist central planners.

I also agree that there are Libertarians who have fallen for the most effective anti-gunners in history, George Soros.

But a free republic requires loyal dissent as well as its zealots. We have loyal American Libertarians posting here day in and day out with their own unique points of view. America needs everyone pulling together. I have more hope for our Libertarians than our Democrats.

Patriots will often disagree. The debates during our Constitutional ratification prove that.

That first line is a beauty, stressing loyal dissent, not this "hate America, blame it first" attitude found among Greens and Dems. I think many would agree that conservative libertarians are often merely small government Republicans. The ones that fall under the Soros spell are the left-leaning potheads who don't see what else he does (there are hard right nationalist potheads out there who loath Soros). These left-leaners also like the ACLU, not paying attention to direct anti-civil liberty action they take.

Exactly. Nail on the head. Most people in the LP would settle for returning us to a Constitutional Republic...

I understand that Libertarianism is a great idealogy, maybe even superior to Republicanism....

Libertarianism with a small "l" isn't so bad, or better yet, classic liberalism, but the Libertarian Party is infested with self-centered dopes that love to use the fringe, and often destructive parts of society as the battleground for their delusional ideas. The half percent of the vote they got in 2000 is probably an unreachable dream this time around.
