Doesnt it start in 2 hours?

Debate isn't for two hours, dude. Why not do a "Pre-debate thread," then start a real one closer to the time?

I have a question that I've been thinking about.
Much of the conventional wisdom seems to be that Bush needs to be more aggressive in this debate. But, does anyone else think that the format makes this strategy potentially dangerous? Bush is not allowed to ask Kerry questions, and the format might make it look like Bush is dodging the question to bash Kerry. In any case, he has to be clever about it.

This will be carried by most major networks. And CBS.
I think that Bush will do much better tonight. I don't think I can watch though - I get too nervous and upset. I may have to depend on FR to keep me up to date.

Here is hoping that W uses the killer line tonight:
"Senator,I ask of you from your own words...is the threat of terrorism exaggerated like you said months ago?"
Slam the bitch.
To: Orange1998
My gut is telling me Bush is going to come out swinging tonight and win this thing. The format works to his strengths and Kerry's weaknesses, expecations are low for Bush, and Bush has really laid into Kerry's senate record in the past couple days.

Bush needs to think of these debates as if they were a kind of dogfight, like the ones he flew in the Texas Air National Guard. Kerry is a relatively good pilot/debator, and he has a whole series of lethal heat-seeking missiles under his wings. He is out to DESTROY Bush politically, so Bush has to fly smart, avoid the incoming, and maneuver his way behind Kerry so he can take him out.

Bush needs to pound pound pound hard from the very first question and never let up. This one should be red meat for the base, forget about the ditzy undecideds.
Let's keep a count of how many times W uses the "L" word. I predict 7 times during the evening, at least 1 in the very first question he fields.

I want to see the Bush that stood in the rubble on Sept. 14, 2001.
He has to reconnect to the people the way he did that day.
