Yeah. He could almost stumble in looking like Ned in the First Reader and do just about as bad as Ned did, and still do okay what with the expectations presented by the media. Gee, I hope Kerry's face doesn't crack and start bleeding out the botox needle holes tonight. Uh, well I am really hoping it will . . and that is wrong! Bad, bad Twinkie! (Slap, slap!) . . .

"I like realism as much as anyone and when I see Bush down in the polls and tradesports with Kerry ahead I'll be more pessimistic."

What are the signs that make you optimistic now? (An optimism I share.)

I take it those would be the hermaphrodites and andorgynous?

"I think it's very possible if he does even competently tonight he'll just forgo the final debate?"

I wish he would. Three debates is nothing more than a gift to the media's bottom line. Blow off the third debate and let the Dems spend the rest of the campaign harping on that while Dubya harps on what a disaster it would be to the country if we get a liberal Mass Senator for President.

Pretty obvious, Bush is ahead in the polls and ahead in the betting polls.
