The President of the US is supposed to conduct himself with some level of dignity and class. Clinton never did it but Bush was dimplomatic in talking about the man so as to not look petty. The look on his face when he mentioned his record said a lot though.

That said...

The party powers annointed him as the chosen one back in 1999. There were other candidates that looked and smelled better and frankly, would have held the line on certain issues like government spending that so many true conservatives are pissed about. I think that he has done an admirable job in holding the resolve to fight the WOT and I like the fact that tax cuts have been a priority. He is not a smooth speaker and outside of a controlled environment, he tends to fumble his speech which sends people a certain message.

His handlers did a lousy job of deflecting blame for the 2001 recession and they didn't do enough to talk about the effects of 9/11 on the economy. His administration also looks pretty bad on the WMD issue with those that aren't willing to stay the course in tough times and do the things we need to protect us long term.

Yes, he can lose but for the wrong reasons and for that I worry at night

The exit polls of 2000 had Bush winning men 53-42 (white men 60-36) and 43-54 among women (white women 49-48). The exit polls of 2002, however, had Republicans almost even among women, winning big time among white women.

I don't see how the dynamics and security needs of women have changed much since 2002.

That's why I think Rasmussen is bunk. The gender gap is very real and very big, but the Republicans are making gains among women and the Democrats are not making gains among men.

Again, what evidence is there that these exit polls are correct? They don't even correctly predict the turnout when actual precinct books are checked.

There is no evidence besides polling for a gender gap. So if polling shows no gender gap, what do we really have to go on to dispute it?

There is real precinct voting data and census data to show the racial gap between blacks and whites (and that data shows a much larger gap than exit polling). There is nothing for the gender gap.

Bush JA rating climbing back up. Rounded to 52% now. Hate to tell Francois, but it is impossible for a sitting president who has a 50+ JA rating to lose an election. Can't happen.
