I really don't get this polling service. The numbers rarely make sense. But I was polled by them once, in June. They called at our summer home in Washington state where we aren't even registered to vote!

I screwed up and posted Tuesdays article. Here is todays.

Wednesday October 06, 2004--The race for the White House is tied once again.

The latest Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows President George W. Bush with 47% of the vote and Senator John Kerry with 47%. While the Senator has not been ahead in the Tracking Poll since August 23, recent trends show movement in his direction.

Following last Thursday's debate, the immediate reaction was increased enthusiasm among Democrats, a solidifying of Kerry's base vote. Now, there is a decline in perceptions of the President. His Job Approval rating has dipped to 51%.

Also, our weekly ratings for the President's handling of the economy and the situation in Iraq both show declines compared to a week ago.

Please, don't start sounding like discourage. Rasmussen swings back and forth on a regular basis. He poll is almost a perfect sine wave.

Besides, Kerry probably has a good day still hanging on from Sunday. Wait until it goes away tomorrow.

Sure what do we all expect? Everytime the media cycle is negative on Bush, Kerry closes in Rassmussen. That is why all the hysteria and hand wringing over last Thursday is so counter productive. Instead of hearing over and over again about Kerry's incredible gaffes all we heard was all this hysteria about Bush's style. Do you see the Leftist Pundits do that? NO today they are all running around screaming "Edwards Won" THEY understand how to win elections. Too bad the Right seems more intrested in tearing each other down. It is just appalling to watch how undisciplined so many supposed Right Wing Pundits are.

I know that people have bad swings within a campaign, but that poor performance in the debate last week just may cost him. His debate prep team needs to be fired.

Sure and the Electoral Vote map this morning just switch CA to weak Kerry. Things are so bad for Bush Kerry has leads in less then 15 state polls.

Again,

Well, I think I finally have Ras figured out: he's a "slow poller," meaning that his polls lag, not lead. He's just now picking up the last SATURDAY bump that Kerry got. That's interesting. Bush JA still over 51%. No president in history has lost with that kind of JA rating.

Its not "tearing each other down". Its called constructive criticism and walking along and not recognizing screw ups and being able to correct them will lead to defeat.

It appears from Rasmussen numbers that Kerry is getting stronger in the last 2 days, so he may well be ahead by tomorrow.
W job approval is not encouraging - that is as low, as I have seen in on Rasmussen since mid-August.

Rass is limited, but he picks up the trends well - the race was tied in August, Bush went ahead in September (probably, by 4-5 points, at most), and now we are tied again. OH, MO, IA, NM polls confirm that.

Second debate is suddenly very important - if W loses this one, K will go ahead by 2-3, and it won't be easy to catch him at the wire.
