It's almost as if the CIA, other intelligence agencies, State Department, etc. are conspiring to withhold or minimize (not verified, not reliable, etc.) the information. What if we have a Bush administration that, having been burned by not finding WMD's in Iraq in the past year, is totally paralyzed by these reports and will not give them credence's unless 1000% confirmed?

I have been news deprived all day - but this is a megaton bombshell, if true.

It seems too good to be true, as others have said.

It could be the October surprise from the Bush camp, as others have said. If it is wrong and is released by the administration, then there will be big time repercussions for Bush/Cheney.

CNSNews invited credentialed journos and CI folks to view the originals and translations -- I have to believe that at least some of both types will do that. They didn't name the reviewers they mentioned, but they probably should soon.

The tin foil me thinks that the unnamed admin leaker is using CNSNews to discredit the mainstream media - by giving it to an internet news organization it will stay below the MSM radar until someone important says something about it. If the MSM attack the source and try to discredit it, and are shown to be wrong, then the MSM is discredited even more.

If it is correct, then CNSNews and by extension the cyberjournos/bloggers will be validated.

If it is real, then the official release should come from the administration and not the politicos - ideally the CIA and State and Defense should do it together, after showing it to the Congressional intelligence committees.

The revengeful me hopes that Cheney mentions it in the debate on Tuesday.

If you release the documents to the government, expect months of study before they are released. If you release them to one of the alphabets, expect them not to be talked about until after the election. If you release them to Fox, expect weeks of study before they feel confident to stake their reputation on them (especially after CBS's mess). If you release it to a large Internet site, expect weeks of vetting before being talked about so they don't loose their reputation.

That leaves small Internet sites.
