'Kerry refuses any and all comments about his activities, including an alleged spanking of Julia Thorne, with Teddy Kennedy as a witness.'
WHAT'S THIS?????
IANAC but, as I understand the "rules", this statement is a crock.
you are right - it has nothing to do with the legitimacy of his 2 daughters.
it has everything to do with appearances for him, to say that he 'got' an anullment.
This "illegitimacy of the children" argument is a bogus one with which some liberal 'Catholics' have used to assail classical Catholic teaching on divorce. The Catholic Church does not recognize divorce, (the marriage must be declared 'null' by the Church, meaning there was a serious theological-canonical impediment to the marriage rendering it invalid). But annulments in NO WAY render the children of these parents 'illegitimate'. All people are created by God, in His image and likeness, not by man. Nothing God creates is 'illegitimate'.
Below is an official Catholic explanation of the question of 'illigitiamcy' regarding children of Catholics who have had their marriage declared null, (anullment).
"No. The parents, now divorced, presumably once obtained a civil license and entered upon a legal marriage. Children from that union are, therefore, their legitimate offspring. Legitimate means legal. The civil divorce and the Church annulment do not alter this situation. Nor do they change the parents responsibility toward the children. In fact, during annulment procedures the Church reminds petitioners of their moral obligation to provide for the proper upbringing of their children."
Fr. Joseph Champlin ~ Imprimatur from Archdiocese of Cincinnati
I'm a Catholic but you are right that per the rules Kerry's annulment doesn't affect his daughters legitimacy.
However in the general public's perception and especially to non-Catholics it seems to indicate otherwise. His asking for an anullment for his marriage to the mother of his children is still a cold, cold thing for a father to do, especially since the only motivation was more $$$ for him.
Kerry: Thank you sir may I have another
I like the title.
Hanoi John seems to like RED...
Peter was also a participant in the Winter Soldier Investigation and the VVAW's lawyer during the period when John Kerry was with the VVAW.
I wonder how she fit into the POW/MIA Senate activities that Kerry led, ultimately lifting the trade barriers to Vietnam in the early 1990's.
good catch. Thanks. b.

In January 1970, the Committee of Liaison with the Families (COLIAFAM), released a list of 156 U.S. POWs detained in North Vietnam. The Co-Directors of the Committee were Cora Weiss and David Dellinger. The Committee also released a list of five servicemen "confirmed as being dead by the North Vietnamese." Of these five, three were listed by the DRV at the time of the Paris Peace Accords as having died in captivity, while the other two were never confirmed as having been held captive. The remains of all five have been repatriated.
There's some more on that in Post #17.
Have you done part II of your JFKerry profile? Sorry if I missed it.
Ain't that the truth!
