Reading just the questions by themselves show the enormous magnitude of not only bias, but the deliberate intent of providing Kerry with a forum to expound on his attacks against President Bush, and ask President Bush the questions McAuliffe would ask President Bush
To: FairOpinion
I best summarized it as this.
Mr Bush - What did you do wrong?
Mr Kerry - What did Bush do wrong?

Maybe McAuliffe DID give the questions to Lehrer.
McAuliffe would have replaced the Sudan question with something about the Texas Air National Guard, but you are essentially correct.
To: VisualizeSmallerGovernment
McAuliffe is saving that for the last debate, closest to the election.

How can people as obviously biased as Lehrer be perceived as fair, is beyond me.

It's beyond ALL of us here and I hope that it was just as obvious to most of the people who watched the debate.

That's right. The entire night was designed to keep Bush under the gun and on the defensive. Kerry was not asked to defend anything that he actually did and was responsible for. Other than fending questions on a few statements, opinions, and criticisms he was free to be the attack dog for the duration. Bush did amazingly well considering how it was stacked.

L: Mr. President, we all know that John Kerry is a traitor, a liar, a Communist, a back-stabber, a hallucinator, a counterfeiter and a fabricator to go along with his worthless Left wing Whacko 19 years of sometimes voting in the U.S. Senate. My question to you, Mr. President, is what do YOU have to say about the INTEGRITY of your opponent, Senator Kerry?

Do you want to moderate the NEXT debate? ;)
I think that as compensation to Bush they should let Rush be the moderator of the next debate.

"Mr Bush - What did you do wrong?
Mr Kerry - What did Bush do wrong?"
Your summary is still the best. I reread the questions and this is exactly what they were.

Do you remember Layrah asking Bush that question, first run for either at it, about the other's integrity?

"Q 16 (to Bush): Clearly, as we have heard, major policy differences between the two of you. Are there also underlying character issues that you believe, that you believe are serious enough to deny Senator Kerry the job as commander in chief of the United States? "
This was a set up question also. If Bush said anything negative, he would be later attacked for being "meanspririted". If he said something neutral or positive, the Dems would be quoting him that he is endorsing Kerry. Bush handled it very well.

...a counterfeiter...I believe the correct label is "uttering" a forged document, or in sKerry's case, a whole lot of documents! :-)

THAT WAS THE ? I was referencing....THAT right there was what impressed me the most, especially seeing that Bush was FEELING during this (fought that off pretty well, came off more the man for how he handled himself tonight, IMO) debate and probably wanted to say some things we all were wanting to say...Thanks FO!

If I limited myself to positive attributes of John Kerry, I'd be talking about how nice his daughter's have been to my daughters, blah-blah, blah-blah, blah-blah...lol Bush was funnier than crap right there...like when he was eulogizing uncovering the night of the living dead portraits of Bill and Hitlery at the WH and gave the Clinton speech...Bush seemed like he was laughing inside...LOL ROFLOL
