"It really appears to be me that we no longer live in an open society," he said. "When you get to the point where you can't express an opinion, then you're in trouble." Does this guy listen to himself? I mean he DID express an opinion, didn't he? Did anyone stop him from expressing his opinion? (No.) Then he's an idiot, and that's MY opinion.

W. Leon Smith, publisher of the Lone Star Iconoclast, co-wrote the editorial that blasts George Bush's presidential record and urges voters to elect Democrat John Kerry. He stands by his decision. With idiocy of that magnitude, it's no wonder the Lone Star Iconoclast has a circulation of 425.
Hell, when my brothers and I delivered newspapers, our combined customer base was bigger than that.

The liberal jerks still don't get it.
Newspapers are supposed to report the facts, not opinion.
The a-hole deserves everything he is getting.

Smith gets it wrong and it's no surprise. He says that it appears we no longer live in an open society when we cannot express an opinion. He can "opine"- to use an O'Reilly expression - all he wants, nobody is denying him that. What he misses is that no one needs to listen, or buy his papers to read his stupid opinions. So I say to Smith, opine away.
To: kingattax
He has a right to express his opinion as we as the public have the right to express ours....by not buying his rag.
BTW I live about 40 miles from Crawford. This fool has made his neighbors VERY angry... Crawford IS Bush Country

"It really appears to be me that we no longer live in an open society," he said. "When you get to the point where you can't express an opinion, then you're in trouble."No. When we get to the point where we are required to agree with your stupid ass, THEN we are in trouble.
Now, go tend to your failing business.
